5 minutes into the first episode and it already doesn’t work with the lore of the original. Did the creators forget that in the prequel both Bong Soon and her Mother lost access to their powers FOR USING THEIR STRENGTH FOR PERSONAL GAIN? Their super strength was to only be used in times of crisis and to protect/help others. Using it for a fighting tournament (like Bong Soon’s Mother) would have caused Nam Soon to lose her powers at an early age. Already a big no from me. This is obviously a somewhat poor attempt from netflix to reboot a series to easily pander to a fandom so they can just coast and not have to do any real marketing or advertising. BUT i will continue to watch to see how this series progresses.
you guys, i haven’t slept in two days plus i’ve worked the past two days and work in a few hours JUST TO WATCH THIS SHOW. worth it. it had the best of any ending for a kdrama i’ve watched. i honestly haven’t cried like that since Birth Of A Beauty and Boys Over Flowers. just freaking amazing!
i’m just starting the series right now! i’ll come back after the first few episode to remind you if it’s…
ok on episode 8 right now and definitely skip the secondary character relationship parts if you can help it lol. definitely not worth the time for them! everything else has been great though!!
just starting the series and to be honest, i have a hard time sitting through and watching most k dramas made before 2016. idk why, if it’s the cinematography, toxic plot points, blatant sexism, racism, or homophobia, etc, but reading reviews and comments i have high hopes! i’ll come back with updates!
I really want to re-watch this drama because i love the main couple, but remembering that the cheating second…
i’m just starting the series right now! i’ll come back after the first few episode to remind you if it’s worth watching all of it or if we should skip their parts lolol
coming back to give a final comment. the first half was definitely absurd and mind numbingly slow. but after episode 8 it gave a big turn around and i finished the last half in pretty much one sitting. things start to connect and resolutions are being found a lot quicker than before. the ending scene may leave something to be desired but honestly perfect for what the show was. 7.5 out of 10 honestly.
and just as i suspected, finishing ep8 it finally gets better. just when i was about to give up and move on to another show THERE’S FINALLY SOME SORT OF RESOLUTION to some conflicts and it’s made the show better. let’s see what the second half of the series provides.
Currently just finished episode 4 via Hulu and could not be more uninterested. honestly i know plenty of k-dramas love the “slow burn” aspect when it comes to unraveling stories, but this is absurd.
Young has all these tools at her disposal to show how 2 faced Joon is but does not except write on her computer! Like girl, you have all these production tools around you, why not ask for a hidden camera to have on you when they aren’t around to capture real moments between you two? Not that hard. Also i can tell Joon isn’t supposed to be a malicious person but they make his character too self involved. and they want us believe there’s some sort of redemption arc for him near the end? not with his attitude no.
i’m honestly beyond frustrated watching but i feel like i have to watch until at least halfway to get some sort of closure of wasting my time. Almost just watching for more Kim Mingyu scenes cuz i’m in love with him.
On episode 5. The female lead is a pathetic sad doormat. The show says shes fiesty and hard to handle. But that…
omg YES just finished episode 4 myself and had to come run here so i could vent all the same things you just so expertly explained!! thank god someone else feels the same way i do!!
Ok is it just me or does anyone else not feel satisfied by the ending? Was minding rooting for her and Sun Ho to get back together. Hye Young was a great choice obviously but the turbulent emotions between Jojo and Sun Ho were too easily forgotten and didn’t get the right closure TBH.
I'm soooo dumb again, how did I not realise it was shi lei and yu zhen that came for a divorce!!! I just decided…
I really thought they were the characters too! But when i looked it up under the cast section they aren’t. i’m still pissed they’re trying to divorce though
I DEADASS SCREAMED AT MY SCREEN at the end of episode 5. Obviously from the gallery above i should have figured Aaron and Hank would both appear in the series but they aren’t the characters from Beloved In House. i’m about to start episode 6 and hope they don’t go through with it or else i will boycott!
NO. I CAN’T BELIEVE THEY’RE REALLY MAKING IT! i read the webtoon multiple times and saw the first episode ad pop up on my WatchAsian tv website! i’m so excited!!!!
ok, finally watching episode 10 (tried looking for episode 9.5 everywhere but no success) and Cake is giving real Tae Sung vibes from Cherry Blossoms After Winter and im loving it. lol
ok just started episode 7. and how do Cake and Eiw not realize they’re already dating? lol all the cuddling and things they do? hell i know some real life gay couples who aren’t as intimate or affectionate at they are. (me, i’m that person)
surprise hit for me! starting watching out of pure boredom and didn’t expect it to be great enough for me to binge 5 episodes consecutively. I like the fact that so far no toxic friends have shown up, no outright life altering bullying, just these characters living their best lives.
come back with updates!
