typically kdramas aren’t all 16 eps anymore. doesn’t rlly matter if she’s in a 16 ep one she’s still acting
This is always an interesting conversation. Depend on how you look at it. My take: Yes, dramas are getting shorter, and I believe that for the most part, actors are now earning quite a bit less because of it. Min Si, might be an exception as she has gotten a lot of projects the last 4 years. But that isn't normal. Actors might get one project a year. They get paid per episode. If the drama is 8 instead of 16, they lose half their income for that year. They may not work again till the next year. Even Min Si did the Frog last year, 8 episodes. And nothing till this year, and it is a 10 episode drama. So, in 2 years, she will get paid for 18 episodes, just 2 more than 1 16 episodes drama. Actors are losing their shirts. That's my take. :)
Great drama; but sorry, they deceived the public. This drama was billed as IU and Bogum as the leads. Park Bogum is barely in 6 episodes as the leads, after that he does little cameos. Park Hae Joon plays Gwan-Sik for 10 episodes. IU is the lead for 6 episodes, and then becomes a supporting character for 10. He dual role is special, but it is still a lie. Moon So Ri and Park Hae Joon are the real leads in this drama, and they never told us that. It, indeed, was deceptive. But the drama itself, high marks.
I really admire him for taking up that role. His role had a huge impact regardless of screen time. People will…
He has had almost no screentime since episode 6. I hope he has a lot more in the last 4 episodes. Some of the supporting actors have had more time than him. The drama is very good, however. I'll give my opinion on this after I see 13-16.
What? Filming for WLGYT finished ages ago. He even filmed Good Boy in the meantime.
It is high profile, my point. He is not the lead in episode 1. He is the lead male in episodes 2 thru half of six. He is not the lead after that. It is a sixteen episode drama. He is lead male for 4 1/2 episodes. What are his fans gonna do for episodes 7-16? I still think he took it because it is a high profile drama, it gets his face out there. He is popular, but its been awhile. But I personally have problems with such a highly sought after A-list actors basically accepting a supporting actor role. Because that is what it is so far. But then again, I'm sure he does not care what I think. Still a great drama.

It's not the timeframe I am thinking of. He had been away for awhile. This role, although limited in screentime got him back out there, thus another 2 dramas.
So now we know why he took such a diminished role in "When Life Gives You Tangerines. He basically took a supporting role. It was just so he could jump to this lead project.
