Drama A Day Keeps Stress Away!

This is where it all Begins

My journey into the world of K-dramas started unexpectedly around the end of 2019. One accidental click on a random clip was all it took—and just like that, a whole new world opened up for me.

Looking back, I remember watching a few shows from Japan and Korea as a kid, but I had no idea there was so much more out there waiting to be discovered. What began as a curious moment turned into a passion that’s been growing ever since.

I already knew about K-Pop, thanks to PSY's Gangnam Style—my very first K-Pop song, like it was for so many of us! And way before that, channels like Cartoon Network, Disney, and Jetix were my gateway into the world of anime.

My Journey soo far....

Back in 2019, I didn’t really have much free time to binge through an entire drama or jump straight into the next one. I was lucky if I could somehow manage watching1 or 2 EPs a day.

But then came the lockdown in early 2020—and with it, the time I never had before. That’s when things really changed. I finally had the chance to dive deep, and the more I watched, the more I got hooked. Before I knew it, my casual interest had turned into a full-blown obsession with dramas and movies.

I’ve made it a mission to explore all kinds of Asian dramas—sometimes even the ones not listed on kisskh. Genre doesn’t matter to me; I’ll watch anything. And I have this personal rule: no matter how slow or boring something feels, I never drop it. I have to know how it ends—it’s just how my curosity is!

Even after all these years, I know I’ve barely scratched the surface. There’s still so much more out there, and I’m in no rush. This journey is far from over, and I’ll keep going for as long as there’s another story to discover.

I usually don’t rate a drama until I’ve seen at least 4 EPs. I’ve learned over time that every story unfolds at its own pace, and some dramas need a bit of time to really settle in.  So I made it a rule to watch at least 4 EPs before giving any kind of rating.

When it comes to movies, I always wait until the very end. Only after I’ve seen the full picture do I feel ready to judge it fairly.

As for my rating system—well, I like to think of it as a personal scale of perfection to “maybe not for me,” but always with respect for the effort behind it. Here’s how I break it down:

NOTE: Anything below 5, content has become morally questionable, uncomfortable, or include taboo elements that won’t appeal to everyone.

🌟 Perfection! ⫸ 10.0

A masterpiece in every sense. Everything—from story, direction, acting, music, and emotional impact—comes together flawlessly. It leaves a lasting impression long after it ends. This is the kind of experience that defines why I love watching content. Infinitely rewatchable.

🔥  Fantastic!⫸ 9.5 – 9.0

An amazing experience that gets almost everything right. The story is engaging and it keeps you invested throughout. There may be a tiny flaw—like a slightly rushed part or a missed opportunity—but it barely affects the overall quality. Highly enjoyable and very rewatchable.

Super!⫸ 8.5 – 8.0

A really solid and enjoyable watch. It does most things well but has noticeable flaws—maybe pacing dips, predictable moments, or underdeveloped characters. Still, the positives clearly outweigh the negatives. It’s entertaining, satisfying, and worth revisiting.

👍 Likeable! ⫸ 7.5 – 7.0

Maybe not my taste. It had some good scenes, acts, or ideas—but doesn’t fully stand out. It might feel generic, inconsistent. You may or may not enjoy all parts of it, but it doesn’t leave a strong impact. Still, it’s watchable and okay for a casual revisit.

😕 Disappointing! ⫸ 6.5 – 6.0

Below average. It had a promising concept, cast, or setup but failed to deliver consistently. Issues like weak writing, uneven pacing, or lack of acting depth. It leaves you thinking it could have been much better. Definitely, not memorable.

👎  Bad!! ⫸ 5.5 – 5.0

Extremely poor quality. There are clear problems in execution—whether it’s the story, acting, editing, or direction. It struggles to hold attention, and finishing it feels more like a task than enjoyment.

⚠️ Very Bad ⫸ 4.5 – 4.0

A frustrating watch. From here, you might question the choices throughout. Finishing it requires effort from here.

😣 Terrible! ⫸ 3.5 – 3.0

Just terrible. The flaws are constant and hard to ignore.  From here, it fails to engage emotionally or intellectually.

🤢 Awful!! ⫸ 2.5 – 2.0

Very difficult to sit through. It offers little to no value. Major flaws dominate every aspect, making it feel pointless or punishment.

💀 Unwatchable! ⫸ 1.0

A complete failure on every level. Watching it feels like a waste of time, and finishing it is nearly impossible. Nothing about it works.
