This one? It's better than the currently aired C-dramas at the moment. I am watching BD at the moment. and 'can't' wait for the next two episodes.

The FL and the ML are seasoned actors which makes this drama stand out.

You need a bit of patience if you encounter any silly scenes like Mr Lu trying to save the FL by himself.

Peter Ho is a Taiwanese actor so he used to be a pop idol and isn't exactly a trained actor unlike many of the C-drama actors who graduated from the Beijing Film Academy or Shanghai Theatre Academy or Central Academy of Drama and Arts and etc who are trained actors. PH has improved a lot in his acting since he filmed in China.

The chemistry isn't obvious, TBH. Peter Ho doesn't always have a good chemistry with his female co-stars. But, he is quite good in this drama.

SML thinks he is a superman.

All maids could be a side concubine too. The mansion is like a mini Forbidden City.

Prince An has at least ten sons and only god knows a few daughters. So far, we've seen one County Princess, the one who was saved by Lu Gongzhi!

I am also puzzled by this sudden storyline! I think the FL is beginning to warm up to the ML.

I don't think it's SML's baby. It's ML's.

Prince An is just a Prince, not an Emperor.

The ML is playing a neutral at the moment just like Emperor Yongzhen when he was a Prince.

Prince An is an old fox. The way he got rid of Mu Hai Yao is meow! He knows she killed his son's only official heir/ son and has done so many wrong doings and yet he is unable to execute her because he needs her family's support.

With one opportunity, the girl is demoted to be a commoner and Official Mu is unable to do anything at all.

Peter Ho is quite good in this drama but he is not as ruthless and imposing as I would like him to portray his character. I hope to see these characteristics in later episodes.

Overall, BD is entertaining and I love it! The FL doesn't cutie acts which is a blessing!

Xifei's Royal Love in the Palace? The scriptwriter must have changed the setting but the story is loosely based on the same novel.

I think I read the actual novel before so it was based on the mother of Emperor Yongzheng, Emperor Kangxi's concubine, who was a lowly maid, before she served the emperor.

The FL in BD is also a lowly concubine to Prince Xin and her former admirer, Lu Gongzhi, is the adviser to the Prince.

Maybe your preference isn't the same as mine but the FL in the SoT isn't as experienced as the FL in BD. That's why I find SoT rather boring.

BD meanwhile makes me more excited for the next tricks by the junior princes to gain the attention of Prince An.

The storyline is similar to The Yongzhen Dynasty. Except it's not as awesome as TYD.

Aiyah, the title of the novel basically says the FL and ML ending up being together.
