But there are more and more hate comments on it? Do people really dislike this drama? Am I the only one that was…
She was so misdiagnosed. A lot of people are rude and mean that doesn't mean they're "sociopaths or psychopaths" a lot of people with similar backstories as hers end up as serial killers or something but she's literally a writer who's writes stories on the effects of childhood neglect ! That's rare... I'm glad a lot of people liked it too and understood it from my viewpoint too.
I've watched this and although I'm a fan of SEO yeji,I think the reason you couldn't see her acting "damsel in distress" is because she embodied her role as komoonyoung too well in IONTBO,(this has happened to a lot of actors because of their breakout roles)it was hard for me to look past it but when I struggled to see her in a different light than komoonyoung her acting was actually good, her microexpressions were good too. I'm a thriller fan and I've watched a lot of thrillers, this one didn't really stand out for me but I won't say it's bad either in my opinion it's better than most too. I personally think they amnesia plot was executed well,it didn't feel like a dream, the plot reveal wasn't also messy too. But I don't understand what you mean by incesty? I remember the main lead clearly wanting to protect her from her abusive husband and said that when she regains her memory,he would take her abroad. I think he had a special affection for her, because he was adopted and grew fond of her while growing up.
But there are more and more hate comments on it? Do people really dislike this drama? Am I the only one that was…
Yes Exactly, people are missing the point of the drama and projecting their judgemental selves on her, which is the exact opposite of what the drama wanted to show us. The drama wasn't trying to excuse her behaviour, it just wanted to relay that child abuse and neglect most times has a negative influence on in adults life. But whatever, majority of persons liked this drama meaning most understand the characters dynamics. They were so real and deeply written. And she wasn't even a psychopath though I've seen people comparing her to "Jeffrey Dahmer" 😂 that is really absurd.
But there are more and more hate comments on it? Do people really dislike this drama? Am I the only one that was…
The first overhyped drama where I actually understood the hype It had flaws but most things were so perfect that I can't help but love it. I think most people can't relate or tap into any of the characters, that's why.
its been a year but I still come back to this page just to read comments. This show just has my heart it is so…
But there are more and more hate comments on it? Do people really dislike this drama? Am I the only one that was impressed by sensibly written the characters were? Do the hate reviews on it stem from not relating to the characters?
Thank you for your review I'm not the only one that was so touched by the deep sensibility of the characters that I loved it so much despite some flaws. It did have flaws, but what amazed me is how relatable the characters were, it's either I was like one of the characters or I knew someone like the characters. I also loved how it highlighted the trauma caused by child abuse and neglect and hit can affect the individual's character development. I've seen reviews by people saying this drama was overrated and they couldn't believe any of the characters or tap into them , isn't it obviously because you can't relate to them? That's why I care less about the hate reviews in this drama because most of them stem from shallow mindedness
100% AGREE with you!!! This is a ridiculous kdrama trying hard to be relevant.
I think in dramas and books, majority carries the vote. This drama has numerous nominations awards and acclamation in various rating sites. It's safe to say you don't have taste.
Your review is an assault to psychoanalysis. As a psychotherapist I have to admit that the writing of the characters is one of the realest I've watched and was written with great sensibility and layered analysis, your review isn't even a constructive criticism but stems from extreme shallow mindedness. As someone who works in the psychology field and as someone who could relate very well to the main leads character, If you couldn't relate to any of the characters that's okay don't go scribbling myopic reviews so it would seem you have taste in dramas.
Bro the dramas overrated in Korea are trash too. This is one of the only few dramas where I understood the hype, so stop acting like you have taste, lol.
Hahahaha it's so true!! His character mostly just stood around staring at a floor after someone walked away from…
Very closeminded opinion,if that is all you saw his character depict then I get why people like you would say the drama was overhyped. There are reviews and analysis by mental health experts on each of the characters, it's safe to say a lot of people didn't resonate with the characters so stop thinking you have some superior taste all because you aren't part of the people that liked this drama, lol
This is so wrong and rude, lol. What do you mean by "stop writing fluffy reviews" it's okay to not appreciate or like a drama. Not everyone watched it for the actor or the actress. I've seen a lot of reviews saying that this drama was their first into kdrama land ,so your opinion is really really closeminded. People have better things to do than to give pretentious reviews on a drama that has very high ratings and acclaim, I've seen reviews of people saying that this drama resonated with their traumas and could relate to it. This drama highlights how trauma and emotional struggles affects an individual's character development, what were you expecting it to be about after the first episode. I could care less if it has bad reviews or not,I personally liked it but trying to invalidate the feelings of those who liked it is wrong. I'm pretty sure you best dramas might be absolute trash to me too, I don't know why people feel like they have taste just because they feel an overrated drama doesn't deserve it's hype, lmao.
Please what is your concept of "romanticising mental health issues" To me it means when a mental health issue is downplayed and relayed as something aesthetic and trendy without showing the emotional struggles behind it. And from what I watched, the show did highlight the emotional struggles of each of the characters, how their perceptions of situations and people have been marred by trauma. The trauma from Parental neglect and abuse was specifically highlighted here. You said you know the"broader and complex world of mental health" not everyone can like a drama but at least you should have been able to deeply analyse the complex emotions delivered in this show. It looks like people are saying this show was romanticised because the main leads were gorgeous that's quite ridiculous considering this was one of my first kdrama ( the only reason I watched it is because I'm a psychotherapist student and I love shows and books that deal with character analysis) as I have watched more dramas the cast's keep getting prettier so I don't think this show should just be reduced to it's visuals. I think mental health and emotional health resonates differently with different people. I've also seen positive analysis of this drama from psychologists and mental health enthusiast alike. So I don't think it's right to invalidate the feelings of those who resonated with this drama, because you can't assume the number of people who loved this show don't know about mental illness or aren't battling with it ,that's quite myopic and closeminded.I also have a long ass review of things I disliked and liked about this drama but I can't deny the fact that it did relay strong messages about emotional trauma from Parental neglect and abuse and how it can affect an individual's integral part of character development.
Thank you for your meticulous review. I have seen more and more dramas ROMANTICIZING MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. Unfortunately,…

You said you worked with people that had mental health issues in the past so you should be able to deeply analyse the complex emotions delivered in this show. Your point is well taken. I just didn't feel like they addressed her issues well. There are some (as she was portrayed),…
First of all the big fail on this show was that her character was misdiagnosed but I can't blame the writer people with APD are misunderstood for people with BPD or just learned behaviour Via child abuse. It's also worthy to note that she wasn't a "Jeffrey Dahmer" a lot of people are saying she was so horrible which she was but no-one talks about the times when she relays deep emotions and is vulnerable. The point of the drama is to relay that a person's emotional struggles can affect an individual's perception of things and situation. That's how important mental and emotional health and it shouldn't be seen as a "flimsy
excuse" for a person's behaviour. It's disappointing seeing people romanticise her character without highlighting her emotional struggles and it's also disappointing seeing people say "she was a mean woman" without highlighting the fact that mental health and emotional health does affect an integral part of an individual's development.
Hello 👋 Psychotherapist here. Yes I was quite disturbed by her misdiagnosis but I'm pretty sure the writer did her best, reasons because symptoms of BPD and APD are really similar . I honestly think she had PTSD and learned behaviour via child abuse ,or borderline to the very most ,she exhibited some characteristics of people with APD but she was also able to feel things deeply that I'm not sure someone with APD can feel, she put up those walls and an abrasive personality to hide her broken inner child, I love how this drama depicted schema behaviours And even at that not everyone with APD is a psychopath and but everyone with psychopathy has APD. The fact that she's attractive, rich, and popular and has designer items doesn't mean it's romanticised, people with disorders are allowed to have jobs and look attractive too. "Romanticising mental illness" means downplaying mental illness and not showing the emotional struggles of a mental illness and how it affects an individual's integral part of character development, which this show relayed so well , this was one of the highlights of the show and I hope it reached the right audience because a lot of people like to desensitise trauma caused from Parental neglect and trauma. But I won't deny that edits of her seem like her mental illness is romanticised but that's not the writer's fault it's coming from people's myopic perception, there are a lot of people who later grew to love her without romanticising her struggles too. It's also noteworthy to add that this drama wasn't going towards the "fix it" routine but instead focused on trauma and how the characters perceptions have been marred from it and trying to humanise not "romanticise" this characters so people silently going through similar would learn to stop feeling different It didn't seem like a medical psychological drama to me, compared to some I've read and watched about, but I can't deny that they also incorporated some non medical realm of mental healing such as the butterfly hug technique, interpersonal healing and problem solving therapy as various forms of mental and emotional healing. To be honest I didn't care much of the romance theme in this drama,to me they gave off best friend vibes rather than an intimate couple vibe because they both knew eachother's pasts, struggles, weakness and strength and they could see through eachother too. Overall, it's a good drama and one of the few highly rated dramas where I could slightly understood the hype that's if one doesn't misunderstand it.
The storyline has already thrown me off,but I hope the execution would be good. I already know the acting would be impressive, because of the actors starring in it.
neglect ! That's rare...

It's like people want to be different so bad and want to have a different review so people would think they have perfect taste, lmao
