Good plot, great characters

Good :
Characters :
All four main characters + ML's brother you start rooting for them early on and thats the important thing. And they are so normal people. Not pigheaded with tons of misunderstand. they actually sit and talk and actually work. Specially in the name of so called "strong female character" sometimes FL is made a caricature by showing her arrogant , so confident even when mistake is done that they dont acknowledge. I so love the fact that here FL knows her thing and does not hesitate to voice her opinion and do her work and she is also willing to listen to ML bcs he has more experience and has a wider perspective. its periodic drama so women would still have limited access to anything and everything so i didnt find FL acknowledging and appreciating ML as some fan girling. (as some people commented in Viki and here).
Equally good supporting characters makes it fun to watch. Second ML is so fun. Little things he does is so funny , not over the top. Even other smaller supporting characters like ML's general or Eununch's general are fun to watch.
Best part of the drama still is that they sit and "talk" it out which i find many dramas missing. Be it leads or even other characters.

Acting :
Almost all actors have done great job although sometimes i found FL just standing there with no expression. She could have done better there with a little more expressions but still does not impact the experience. She is good enough for her role. Highlights are the Head Eununch and his assistant. They did such a great job to make sure even plotting villianous scenes of theirs is fun to watch.

Plot :
Plot is not very serious that you have to be at the edge all the time but at the same time not so loose that you lose interest in it .
Overall interesting plot but you also enjoy the journey of the characters

Bad :
Attire:
Whats with the attire of the FL !! Initially she wore sort of cottonish attire which made sense from where she came but then she changes to a more expensive attire. Well we can assume she bought it from capital but then when she is back in village she is wearing some silikish fancy coats which does not go well with what her status is or the village nor does it go well with the well to do family.

A very good drama brought down by immature characters and scenes

Good

1. Actors and the chemistry between ML and FL
2. The way they meet and bond in high school and the separation
3. Smart FL (although sometimes too soft but i can live with that)

Bad

They go to college and thats when the drama which could have been great starts wavering. Immature characters and scenes that doesnt make sense at all. Computer science competitions are no where like the way they show.( i was a computer science student and been in the industry for a decade. ) . SML is outright stupid but thats ok. ML is a good character overall but when they do fight its very immature. And some side characters annoy the heck . Be it FLs best friend who being best friends with FL cannot realise she loves ML and instead keep spouting rubbish about SML or be it ML friends who post in ML profile without ML permission to help him. And so many so many side characters who are into ML or hate FL ughh. And random scenes like some college students attacking ML bcs of a wrong accusaton doesnt make sense at all.
Also FL is shown to be hard working but there is not that much professional interest shown for her ( i am comparing this vs lighter and princess FL where FL really starts loving programming)
And also FL hiding things from ML becomes repetitive after a while. it is just way too annoying if characters dont develop and learn.
Even after all of this its a fun to watch . Just because of ML / FL chemistry and some good scenes on growth of ML and FL..

PS : i am not sure if its good to compare but i would still say this is a little immature (not great but okayish) version of lighter and princess. Bcs there characters showed growth be it communication or regrets or letting go of past. Here we dont see anything . Characters makes mistakes again and again and again!

Expected another beautiful nostalgic happy story after one and only but disappointed

30 episodes (more than one and only) for a drama with nothing going on is too much so had to skip a lot of scenes as it gets boring in later half. First half is fast paced and you still dont know whats gonna come but that leads to dead end.
What i really wished we could get that nostalgic feel where leads remember their old incarnation . I came to know this theme is prohibited !! I dont get it how come china has so many fantasy shows but this topic is prohibited. in any case how i wish FL remembered fully and ML also starts remembering and we get those feels back .
And also i wish there was more passion and yearning. that was shown so beautifully in one and only to be here . although it was sweet love story its no way close to one and only. so having that intertwining of past tragedy could have helped the drama get more depth.
Instead we get so much awkwardness between these couple out of nowhere throughout the drama. But have to say their chemistry is still very good specially that crying scene in the batchroom both actors did such good job.
Overall a good watch if you are watching on the side but have to fast forward lot of scenes that doesnt make sense.

Overall great watch

Loved the oveall depiction of the school life.

What i loved
1. The friendship and different equation between group of school students. I have seen 5-6 school dramas and this is one of the best depiction . You can clearly see how all classmates have such good easy going friendship but still everyone has different level of communication and understanding with each other. Be it having group of friends but one best friend, crushes , girl gang. Lot of dramas showed group of friends but they never showed in details like actually communicating or just sitting down and discussing except ML FL and may be SFL or SML equation. Here we can see how each one of them help others in different capacity when one is in need.
2. How you can still be jealous of your friends even if you care for them and go through that phase of competition.
3. Loved how they showed different family and their equations. All the above things in just 30 without feeling its being dragged is a good feat . i had to drop another show which got repetitive after just 10 episodes(Our secret)
4. FL and ML . FL is not dumb or too kind or too sensitive shy crying around . She is very straight forward and sensible. ML is not a genius cold person but very warm with everyone and helps everyone in the class. And they both help each other out and value each other and are open about appreciating that.

What i didnt like :
One small cribbing i have is i dont get it when ML or FL change their stream just for each other. its their future they cannot ruin it. I get that school students are impulsive but adults should help them. What was that ML applying for a not so good university for FL. FL got angry which makes sense but they should have showed may be by teacher or someone how wrong it is to chose your future that way. Its just gives out a wrong message otherwise.

Sweet and sensible Youth Drama

From past few weeks i watched so many youth shows and by far this (and 2nd is summer again) beats all other shows in terms of overall story, acting and character arc.
ML with a heavy baggage but not cold just quiet , sensitive and FL issweet & a little childish but not overly done having her own thoughts trying to protect ML openly or silently. Loved Her family and his father arc too.
And most of all friendships depicted among 6 people. How it grew among them so naturally and we could see how each interacted and helped each other in different levels of friendship and ways. Most shows although they showed initially of becoming friends we do not see much on them interacting so personally . For ex: we can see Che showing why GuoGuo was selected and convincing him to just go ahead. ( except may be FL with her best friend in some shows. )
Even without much physical affection we could see so much love and care between leads. It is so sweet. Kudos to both actors.
i will definitely rewatch this show because most shows i had to skip a lot due to characters stupidity i couldnt stand. Here there is none,.
Only thing that could have been a little better is to know why SML was trying to pursue FL. I get that they had same taste with both of them reading same comics but it felt as if they could be buddies than romantic interest at any point in time so him thinking so much and instigating ML felt a little out of place although it was fun to watch them challenge each other.

Started out well but...

I enjoyed first 6 episodes despite of lot of cliche filled scenes and unrealistic story line because the actors carried it out well but then I did not care anymore.. There is a limit to unbelievability after which it becomes exhausting.

1. How can a spokesperson of a president hide his wife for years. Anyone during three years would have spied on him and within few days would find out Hong Hee Ju coming out of his apartment daily. At one point he also challenges press to find dirt on him and still the press did not find about his wife. That too when his wedding became mysteriously private and his wife was not seen with him for years. First thing any journalist heck even an intern would do is check about his wife. Thats ridiculous that they did not till ML reveals.
2. How is the kidnapper able to so easily kidnap her in the temple so easily. Both FL and ML and the whole world knows about the kidnapping, they are roaming around without a security even after FL and ML get hurt one after another in different incidents clearly executed by the same kidnapper. ML keeps talking big about protecting FL and all she does is run around alone multiple times and ML does not care. where was the body guards he employed who were shown for one episode!
3. He is the spokes person to the president and he uses all his time and resource to work on personal matters. President is not in the picture. Only time he comes is when he literally gives his vehicle to ML. Only when romance is needed they remember about some speech of his so that FL can also be with him. And again using the same platform to announce his missing wife. I see everyone commenting that they were crying seeing ML cry but I am sorry at this point i did not feel any damn thing for ML or FL .
4. What was the point of FL sending pictures of her leg ? what was she thinking. It was obvious that ML will either suspect her (which he did not somehow that makes him stupid) or suspect an affair with the caller and if ML had really no feelings for her as she thought, he might have come back with a vengeance for having an affair behind his back. Did she really think he will give divorce immediately knowing she is having an affair?

Overall still a good one time watch may be if we watch at one go and all the actors including ML and FL did so well . But i lost interest after watching 10 episodes. Definitely not worth 8..9 .

Started well but dragged just after some episodes

Considering this show has such high rating I was really hoping for some good story with relatable or even if not relatable, characters who act with some reason.
Within 10 episodes story got repeated . ML not happy that FL doesn’t speak her mind. First for other girls gifts second for changing desk.
FL whining that she can’t speak or can’t adjust!! At some point it was all repetitive and ML really changing stream from science to arts !! Like really ?? She won’t die not even suffer if she is in different class for that matter. That was my last straw. Teenagers are sometime impulsive so if they showed either his parents or teachers or FL making him realise that’s not good but instead it was showed as if it’s romantic. What are the makers showing in these dramas !!
