i didn't understand one thing. When I watched the episode again, I noticed that when Ming was kissing jeo, Tong came and kept knocking on the door. So, when Ming opened the door, Jeo gave a sarcastic smile. Why? Ming opened the door because Tong was continuously knocking, so why did Jeo feel that he could never be Ming's first priority? Jeo's sarcastic smile clearly meant that he was disappointed that Ming opened the door.
I don't understand one thing: why is Ming always so possessive about his stand-in? I mean, when he loved Tong, he was possessive for the 1st jeo, and now that he loves the 1st jeo, he's possessive for the 2nd jeo. Why? In his possessiveness, he hurt the 1st jeo before, and now he's hurting the 2nd jeo๐ญ๐ญ
In every BL series, there's always a second couple to add drama and stretch the storyline to 12 episodes, but "My Stand-In" is the only BL series where there's so much drama that there's no need for a second couple ๐. The main couple's story is so intense that 12 episodes feel too short ๐.
Many of you are saying that instead of taking Sol and Wut's help, why did Joe take Ming's help, and the reason for that is...
About Joe choices, lets see more than surface situations. Ming will never leave Joe- will follow him all the time with an fierce intensity you simply cannot fight with. Also as in the novel Mings family is one of the strongest in the country- politically, militarry, business levels and huge influence, so a police call cause of this behaviour would be just a waist of time for Joe. Altough Sol would pay medical bills he will not give 5 milions bahts to a stranger. Wut doesnt have not even 10% the need ammount (in the novel al he could give to Joe was 50.000 bahts) Why Joe is making his old jobs? Well, if you would come back for example from a long disease what would you immediatly do to cover a huge debt? Doing what you made all the time being a professional or something completly new where you have to learn, where you know any conection and the payments would be according to your level...? So of course Joe is forced of all contexts of his new life- a sick mother, huge debts to cover, integration with a new body in his new life- to choose some things he dont like. Also dont forget that he grew up without parents since 8 years- with only a long distance aunt learning alone and fighting alone with all life chalenges. Also dont forgot that being gay since teen ages also was not easy at all for Joe. Literraly Joe is not a weak character at all! He is a very strong one-growing alone, fighting alone and succed to remain so kind hearted, not involved in worse things, being an orphan that is a very strong character! Any of these 2 lifes is kind with Joe. He has now a mother but she fall sick so quickly and so other hard examples. Is also followed by Ming in both lifes because the novel message is that love can win despite all possible challenges and behaviour developments. So in real life what Joe is forced to live since his 8 years age would literally made many people loose their minds or go to therapist or simply become assholes and badass. But Joe remained balanced, so kind hearted, so full of compasion. And the end of this love beyond time drama between Joe and Ming will be really really iconic memorable.
Many people like Ming, but many people hate him. Some wish that Jeo goes back to Ming, but I don't want that to happen. The reason is that Ming used Jeo as a substitute and hurt him. Out of jealousy, he ruined Jeo's life.
How? Let me tell you.
They have made the story in the series very fast-paced, but if they had taken every detail, there was a part where Ming forbade Jeo from meeting Sol But Jeo was only dropping Sol home, and Ming slapped Jeo for that (which is not shown in the series). Then, at Tong's request, Ming locked Jeo up.
Now, many people will say that Ming was jealous of Sol, which is why he didn't let Jeo go and locked him up, but that's not the case.
Yes, he locked Jeo up because of Sol and told Jeo that he would get him the best movie role, but to leave this movie. But Jeo insisted that he wanted this movie. Then Ming asked if he wanted this movie because of Sol or if he didn't want to give it to Tong. Jeo replied that he wanted to do the movie because of Tong. Ming's reply was that Tong is part of their family, and he can't let him fall.
What he meant was that he couldn't let his brother-in-law be humiliated, yes, Jeo could be humiliated instead, but he couldn't let Tong fall in people's eyes.
Another point I want to mention is that Ming now uses the second Jeo as a substitute for the first Jeo for a year, but during that time, he treats the second Jeo very badly.
During intimate moments, he doesn't kiss him and covers his face while having s*x with him. When Ming finds out that the second Jeo is actually the first Jeo, he becomes so nice. But my point is that if he hadn't found out that the second Jeo was the first Jeo, who knows how much more he would have mistreated him. Ming is selfish. He is only good to those he likes.
In the novel, the beauty of Ming, Sol, and Tong is described in great detail, especially Ming's beauty, stating that he is very handsome, so much so that people can't take their eyes off him. But in the series, Jeo is the most handsome. I'm not saying that Ming isn't handsome, but in the novel, the first Jeo is described with very average looks, and the second Jeo is slightly better but still not as handsome as Ming. However, in the series, Jeo is the most handsome.
In novel, he is older but in series, he looks younger than ming๐i imagined him a very serious and thoughtful person but in series, he is not giving me that vibe ๐
