I don't understand. The chemistry between the two leads when they are close to each other was incredible. I needed…
Ya Joke is WAY too much like Kluen and not enough like Joong, for my taste. Joong himself gives of golden retriever energy which I'd honestly love seeing him in that kind of a more dynamic role

Aha thank you for such a high title, I will wear it with pride 😁
But fr, I'm just disappointed that right now, I couldn't really care less about any of the characters. The way they'd introduced the events and characters was pretty bland. I'm holding onto hope for future episodes but I normally don't have any issue with relating/connecting with characters :/

In interviews, at fanmeets and in their LOL Dum Dum performance, their chemistry is FIRE. However, unfortunately, I have yet to see even a fraction of that chemistry portrayed onscreen in their series.... I was hoping that HA would change that. Still holding onto hope for when the characters get their inevitable (hopefully) character development.

if I needed to review first EP with one word it would be - plain. storyline is nothing new but you can still do…
Yeah, I agree with everything you'd mentored and similarly, my world would be: bland.
I do see potential in it, so I hope that as we progress through more episodes, it can step up to the task.

Title 23.5
This has nothing to do with the series but I heard Gemini and fourth will get a new series as leads?
If you mean as leads in a new series in 2023 then no. That was just a rumour going around when people weren't sure if they'd keep GemFot in 23.5, in which they'd be taken out and giving their own series. As of rn they haven't showed us anything to prove that right since GemFot's already done some sponsorships with MilkLove.
If you mean in next year's lineup then yeah it's very likely that they will with just how popular they are; it'd be dumb of gmmtv if they didn't. But in August 2023 GeminiFourth is having their own concert thing, kind of like LOL fest but just the two of them versus the 16 of them at LOL.

The phrase means that if Patts can't understand WHY Tai is silent, he's not capable of understanding whatever…
Omg thank you for the civil conversation. I like that we can talk about this with our different views and how mdl makes it possible to share them. It's always nice to discuss how other people see and interpret these things and their opinions instead of having someone yell in your face that they're right and you're wrong aha!
Yeah unfortunately, while this series has some great elements, the writing is not one of their strong suits.. Tai's lying, to me seemed more like a fib that was unnecessary and rather childish and immature however I just hold it to a very different standard than controlling and possessive behaviors bc I tend to find them more intentional. I have very little to no tolerance for that since communication should be utilised to address and solve those issues before they arise. Previously, I did find Phat's character to be a little too picture perfect with virtually no flaws- besides him lying to Tai about them having not done anything the night that he was wasted. I thought that having Phat lie and omit the truth was a completely unnecessary choice to add flaws to his character but wow did ep10's plot put that unnecessarity to shame.
I totally agree, lying is a huge no-go in a relationship and you are completely entitled to hold it to that standard. Good for you, that's such a fair deal breaker! I'd have just wished that if Phat had felt just as strongly then he'd have had a, like you said, sit down conversation warning of such. At last, this is a drama; which aren't particularly known for their healthy portrayals of relationships. More drama tends to get more viewers... Myself personally, if there'd been no prior issues along the same lines, I'd try to understand why there was the urge to lie and if reasonable enough then reinforce that boundary. However, once trust has been lost, it is especially hard to rebuild in intimate relationships. Or any relationship in general.
Let's hope that the next couple of episodes are more logical and that the actions are more aligned with the characters themselves. I hope that you have a good day/evening! :)

Exactly this! I just threw up my hands at this episode.
Huh. I honestly didn't see it as such. It was obvious that Tai knew that there was a possibility of Lomfon having a crush on him but he wasn't sure of it.
From how I saw it, both Tai and Lomfon had bonded over shared interests and he was appreciative over Lomfon taking care of a drunken Tian lol. Sure everyone was saying that he was crushing on Tai but there was not confirmation and I think that it was pretty mature for Tai to keep his promise and still give Lomfon a chance to get to know him. As a friend. Tai wasn't certain about the crush, he had said to Bow that he didn't see it and regardless of if there was a crush present, Tai still gave Lomfon a chance as an individual rather than writing him off based on what everyone else says. I think that it was very kind and mature considering how easy it is to dismiss someone like that if there were feelings and they weren't returned. They were out having lunch, snacking, talking and taking pictures; pretty mundane friend things that didn't cross into any dating or explicitly romantic territory. There was no hand holding, nudging or flirting behaviours present.

@winmyheart Well said!! I feel like the realism of the characters depth was lost on a lot of people whom are looking…
And while everyone's flawed, there being no "good guy" doesn't mean that people's flaws all on the same level, morally or impact wise.

The phrase means that if Patts can't understand WHY Tai is silent, he's not capable of understanding whatever…
Tai did reassure him. He told him that he loved him very much and didn't answer the "me or him" because the "him" wasn't even a part of the equation for him. For Tai as I said before Lomfon wasn't even in the picture. Phat was being dismissive of Tai's side and only wanted to hear those exact words when Tai was basically feeding him the same answer. Tai saying that they should bring this up another time when they're both calmer and can see more clearly was him trying to tell Phat that and attempting to give them the best shot to figure it out together.
Also when Phat catches Tai in his lie, he doesn't even attempt to ask why Tai lied to him, to understand where his bf's coming from. The act of trying to understand your partner is so crucial in a relationship and might I say he should've had a little faith in his bf, that hasn't done anything wrong yet prior to this incident. Why he did or felt the need to do that.
Even while in his emotions, Phat was clearly close enough to see the kiss happening as he was rushing towards them. Tai was in shock and still, Lomfon backed away right after and apologized. No one was initiating anything more when Phat comes to try to beat Lomfon to a pulp. The unconsentual kiss from Lomfon also parallels the one Nara pounced onto Phat, in which Tai did not get violent. I get a shove or a punch in frustration to separate them but violence should never be the option.

Just because someone's calm and nice, doesn't mean that their significant other is comfortable or capable of knowing how to have those conversations. It could have absolutely nothing to do with Phat and all to do with Tai's people skill being underdeveloped as he's been very open at being an introvert that would rather keep to himself. As well as the fact that this is his first relationship so will have some learning curves; whereas Phat's had at least one other serious committed relationship already. He should know how this work especially since Nara was portrayed as so emotionally intelligent. That's not an excuse but a human flaw that they as a couple should be able to calmly talk about and work together to understand and compensate for each other's short comings.
You seem to be clinging onto the reassurance part of the mix as if that were present (worded exactly as Phat had wanted), that it would've fixed everything. It's true that it might've lessen his anger but Tai shouldn't be the factor to hold Phat's emotions in check. Tai's not responsible for or in control of Phat's feelings. Of course he shouldn't want to make things worse, which he didn't but Phat alone is the only one who can control and regulate his own emotions and reactions. He's a fully grown adult with a fully developed brain and the life experience to guide it while everyone else is under the age of 25 and don't have that part of their brain fully developed. That doesn't excuse any behaviours or actions but SHOULD be taken into account, as Phat should be the more responsible person.
Tai wasn't gaslighting Phat. He was telling him that there wasn't anything between him and Lomfon, which despite what it probably looked like was in fact true. There was no romantic or sexual feelings from Tai's side. And I never said that Phat should've disclosed Lomfon's condition, he did the right thing by not disclosing it but he could've handled it better. But obviously from Tai's POV, that would've could've been seen as deceit from Phat.

I completely understand why Phat had that reaction but that doesn't make it okay!! That's the important distinction! It was completely disproportionate and anger issues don't just appear out of nowhere when provoked. It's an underlying response that I'm sure he'd have had to been aware of. That's not to say that his anger is bad, it's just that as a person it's your responsibility to try to give yourself the tools to manage your own reactions. To be proactive and responsible for yourself.

...a mark of a good story is how invested everyone gets, right? Leading to heated debate and flying emotions.…
At this point I think the ratings will stay very polarized because I don't think there any way to make everyone happy with the ending. Polarizing ratings usually means a lower rating

While I do agree that this was very unexpected for the characters, I don't actually think it'd came out of nowhere! IMO there were little hints of these qualities in their characters beforehand too; it just wasn't that noticeable.
We know from the start that Tai's an introvert who doesn't have much experience and doesn't go out of his way to socialize with people, so it makes sense that he doesn't really know how to approach a potential confrontation without being prepared to do so beforehand. In the moment, he resorts to the more childish habit of the "white lie" to not upset people (aka his report to not hurt/upset Phat). It was a fib and not the most mature move but he's 22 and open about his tendency to keep to himself so it makes sense that he's underdeveloped in that category.

Phat on the other hand should have that experience and can work with other which is demonstrated by his shares in the vet clinc with his friends. He's portrayed as the perfect bf but IMO there was always something a pinch off about him to me that I only chalked up to a bad script or bad acting (sorry Pee..).
I think that it was the not being completely truthful from the beginning that showed a lack of maturity to me. He lied about not having done anything with him when Tai was blackout drunk/severely wasted; which he did cross out in his letter but never brought it up or clarified. Isn't them kissing (their first kiss) when he was drunk an innocent enough thing to disclose when you're wanting to start a relationship with someone? It shouldn't start issues since it was a drunken Tai that initiated the kiss.
When Phat reveals to a now sober Tai that he now knows about their soulmate connection, he lies to him again about nothing happening between them, for absolutely no reason which I thought was oddly chalked up to cheeky-ness. But now looking back, it was completely unnecessary.
