You know, I don't often sit in silence after I finish a series. I usually jump back over here and see what else I can finish or start from my Watchlist. For 24 hours, I sat quietly doing laundry, working, reading, cooking, all while thinking about this drama.
It didn't blow me away like wow amazing! But it really made me think about what broken people think they deserve. Every single one of the characters were broken in some way and thought the treatment they received or dished out was what they deserved or were entitled to. ML tolerating the ex wife for so long because he was treated that way growing up. Ex wife losing her mind because the dominance she held over ML is chipping away. FL doing these contract marriages because she couldn't secure her own and treating herself as a temporary asset.
I really appreciate that there weren't overly optimistic moments like love can conquer the world and fix broken people if they stick together. This was the opposite. Only in solitude, can one begin to work on themselves and heal. You can't make someone else responsible for your happiness and well being.
I think this drama did a damn good job showing hurt people hurt people. ML with his anxiety and separation issues started smothering FL. FL afraid to get too close and being all business with him. Ex wife finally being told how awful she is and her finally admitting what she did and had to face what was in the trunk.
I didn't love it or hate it, but I appreciated it if that makes sense. It's a good drama.
I'm so confused and it's only 25 minutes of the first episode. Why the contract marriage? They divorced and the ex wife set up an arranged marriage for a year? I'm sure all will be revealed later, but what? 😂
Maybe we'll have a Christmas miracle this year! I had a dream that Tencent just dropped the drama in the middle of the day and we were all celebrating. ðŸ˜
I get we need a plot, but during the call, PSE clearly thinks this is a scam or phishing attempt. He says so to the caller and to his coworkers. Why didn't the kidnapper just take a photo of her in the car. Clearly we know the phone is capable of taking pics. Or why did HHJ even take his comments seriously? Clearly he didn't think she was actually being kidnapped as he mentioned a few times that this was a scam. She's mad that he didn't potentially wire ransom money to someone who claimed they had her, while his and her mothers both confirmed she was seen?
Then she hears him trying to track the number and she's still mad. I guess it's for the plot. If they use common sense, we would have a 12 episode drama lol
They had such great chemistry, but we only get a forehead kiss at the last episode? Even the "main" couple got a kiss under the stars. I guess I'll go watch Moonlight and pretend this is their modern life lol
