its litterally just a small part of the episode to draw out FL back story the episode skips ahead pretty quickly to her currently working as a veterinarian.

looks like they tried to cram too much in one episode and still couldnt tie everything up.

theory 3 network cut original episode count so episode 16 had to be crammed with a bunch of scenes to finish the story as best they could.

by the other episodes pacing, it was set up to have 20 episodes but maybe network told writers had to end it sooner and episode 16 got crammed with multiple episodes.
