There's a lot of anti Chinese comments in this section which isn't nice to see. The team went into this with their eyes wide open ESPECIALLY after Addicted Heroin so let's see how this plays out. Season 2 has been confirmed, uncut version too. They did a great job on this adaptation and it's given us hope

Your first judgement is seeing the production team as an entire country, or the politics of a country, rather than themselves. Believe it or not, there are actual people behind this production; people who simply want to deliver their best effort, even if it means getting in trouble with the law. If you were to have continued watching the show, you'd see the countless risks they took to display their affection. I was there watching Addicted long, long back and I am now here watching Stay With Me. The decision from the production team to not air it in China is an expensive one, they won't get any money from streaming platforms and have to rely on Gagaoolala and VIKI for something that you yourself stated is of higher budget. They really didn't need to, it's simply one book out of all those out there, and not even an incredibly stellar one. Yes, the original punishment to the actors were horrible, but none of that is the production crew's fault. They simply want to continue telling this story, it's not a joined operation with the government, it's not them laughing at the original actors' faces, it's not even close to being a cash-grab like several other BL dramas out there. Why must their hard work be downvoted for this? It is not just BLs that get censored, many novels get censored out of several parts due to strict regulation, several of the scenes in the original novel would not be able to air today, no matter the gender of the characters. Check out the immense drama behind 《我的人间烟火》 (Fireworks of My Heart) if you don't believe me. These stories become a retelling, but a telling all the same. If you were to put your anger aside and watch this drama for what it is, maybe then you'd see why it was rated this high.
with one week left for the show to end, Stay With Me has finally hit #1 on Viki . It was being held back from #1 by Love in The Air for the past 5 weeks. Happy that this masterpiece is reaching such a broad audience and I hope even more people tune into it.
To me the "loosen me up" scene is clearly a reference to the boys being intimate. Wu Bi's mischievous behavior when he first brings it up is one "tell", but then he even carries Su Yu to the bedroom, caveman style.
I have an advice for people who say Jae Won was cruel, and there is no excuse for his behavior: Don't watch To My Star 2. Never ever. Don't do it. Nope. It's much worse, lol.
How did Ji hyun become so brave?? He went from a shy,introverted country boy to an outspoken seoul boy. I guess that's the influence of hanging out with friends like Ae ri.

I honestly can't bring myself to be mad at Jae Won < this and for one specific reason: the show made it clear he is in fact truly struggling mentally, has been for quite some time and it's not just "he sad". Like, I can't take characters' struggles seriously when the show itself does not take them seriously. But here we know he is clinically depressed, sees psychiatrist regularly and takes meds + had suicidal thoughts. I hope next 2 episodes they will get back together, BUT with JW opening up to JH about his struggles in more detail and them setting some kind of boundaries. Yes, I want JH to help JW, but I don't want JH to be emotionally exhausted by this relationship himself. JW struggles can be explanation of his behavior and they can honestly talk about the possible situations they might encounter, but it should not be used as an excuse.
