It’s clear that Tencent did everything they could to boost that drama’s popularity, Youku isn’t that rich, but even so with TSOPG being at a disadvantage it didn’t lose to and isn’t one bit inferior to LGIEF. At the end of the day it’s about the data, they constantly switched places on charts with each other so TSOPG is just as influential. I’m not responsible if you’re not familiar with Chinese entertainment, and how things work there.
Zhao Lusi was famous even before HL, she had and still has the biggest international fanbase. Seems like we’re having two different conversations. I never said a thing about LGIEF sabotaging TSOPG, I just simply put some other data here that shows the latter is doing just as good and even better internationally because it’s discredited in this article and by some of the comments like yours. This article was written based on a single day data and only one chart, there are much more charts than that. What I meant by don’t lie is don’t say that LGIEF is breaking records, topping all charts, datas and platforms and beating everyone around it because it’s not entirely true. I mean breaking records where? Not even on Tencent. LGIEF isn’t on top every day and on every chart. You won’t gain anything by saying half truths as everyone can look for these informations.
TSOPG started to air on 3 TV channels in November 5 but unfortunately, that number of views aren’t included in data charts, if it was included then LGIEF would probably not stand a chance. Since Youku doesn’t have the money Tencent has, Lusi has to do the promotion herself, how is wanting your work to be seen and recognized after putting in months of hardwork is begging? The only one distorting the truth is you and this article. Why would I lie? There’s no secret on the internet so there’s no point in lying. The information I and many commenters gathered are all from official sources, which you can easily look up yourself too to check its credibility. I repeat, no one has said that LGIEF isn’t doing good, you’re defensive for no reason and blindly attacking. Since yall trying so hard to diminish the success of TSOPG, let me put some data in here and also by other commenters in this comment section:
- Are days when TSOPG topped chinese charts, it topped even yunhe on Nov 6 when the other drama (LGIEF) was on 3rd place. Beginning with Nov 5 TSOPG is airing on 3 tv chans, the number of views arent included in data charts. Heat also ref to platforms. TSOPG already proved, being the fastest drama to hit the highest heat index for Youku this year. DW char broke 9.32, is the highest for fem chars in 2024.
- I would also argue about Love Game In Eastern Fantasy beating it domestically, because the data on the picture shown here is only for November 8, while they both aired on November 1. There are different charts and they only showed one declaring that it has already beaten it... The actual truth is that they are going head to head.
- You cannot compare tencent and youku’s heat index because they have different measurements and levels. Tencent 28K index means Hit, 30k means popular, and 32k+ means explosive. Currently LGIEF is at 30k. Youku’s roof for heat index was 10k, but they made some changes this year and the heat index can exceed 10k. TSOPG hit 10k everyday and even went above since it has aired.
There’s several data sets that measure a drama’s performance; broadcast charts and Tables of CVB rating, number of views, popularity index (character and drama), heat index. Some of these charts are: Kuyun, Yunhe, Datawin, Aiman, V-linkage charts and some other charts. The latter 3 and weibo are based on the popularity of a drama like interactions online. Btw it’s quite easy to manipulate all these sites with the paid Hot searches and all... (this is not my comment, it’s in the link I provided at the end of this comment, however I do agree with it).
On Vlinkage for example, TSOPG was the number one drama on the first day of airing when both dramas dropped the same day, then continued to be so on the the third, fourth and fifth day, the day when this article was released both dramas were already on the first place for 4-4 days.
