I've rewatched this so many times! I can't stop laughing because of the antics of the her lol π Shin Hye Sun is simply brilliant here. The two main protagonists have an incredible chemistry! They were the geniuses to cast these two together β€ For me Mr. Queen is a 10 Rating!
I couldn't come earlier and so I leave the answer in a separate post up here for a response I gave to someone about a comment he made and I answered him based on what I saw while watching S2.
I read several comments here and noticed that there are people who noticed the same writing errors in the romance that I saw in S2. Other things I had already talked about, and more.
I often feel like I've been watching a different show when everyone else in the world loves it and I'm like, "What in the world did I just watch!?"
Bottom line: If you like darkly filmed dramas with multiple good fight scenes, good CGI, and you really don't care about the romance anyway, give it a try.
I watched both seasons in one binge so I saw it as a 30 eps long series instead of split into 2. I donβt agree…
I saw it completely differently.
The only thing I saw was Jang Uk being DUMB all the time even with HEAVY hints! He was very smart in part 1. Did he recognize her? When?
Uk. I was believing his mourning until he met Jin Bu Yeon and then that went out the window. PLUS, I felt the script really diminished Uk's love to "love the one you're with" and that irritated me no end.
My biggest complaint was the way the romance was written. Uk fell in love with Jin Bu Yeon before he knew that she was Naksu. This could have been fine if we got the feeling that he was struggling with his feelings, considering that he was supposedly SO in love with Naksu. I didn't get that impression, however.............. Seol Yul found out that she was Naksu pretty early on, and you really got the sense that he could FEEL that it was her. He did a wonderful job with his DESIRE for her. UNFORTUNATELY I didn't see that from Uk! The only thing I saw was Uk starting to give her heart to a "new" person with a completely different personality.
And I didn't sense any feeling of guilt from him when he started to move on from Naksu. Kind of like, "How can I be attracted to someone else when I loved Naksu so much?"
Now I understand why Naksu threw herself into the lake, it was because she didn't want to live so she wouldn't have to watch the second season.... π€¦ββοΈ
I have no idea to this day either, it was so nonsensical. Seemed like they just wanted a kiss for a kiss' sake.…
In ep 6 he also holds her hand in front of that doctor. Then, in that part, I also didn't understand why she gave him her hand. Since they didn't have anything to do with each other yet. At the beginning of this episode she also says "When you're looking at me, see me as I am, just like you did that night", when he kissed her... then the kiss should make sense, but honestly I don't understand anything anymore .
Jang Uk for 8 episodes never managed to recognize (discover or suspect) that she could be Naksu even, after NUMEROUS HINTS given to him. He could only see that it was Naksu after seeing her eyes in ep 9. And in ep Jang uk tells her (I recognized you), this is what? lied right to her face... Is that true love for someone?? Where did the brains of the writer sisters go... Not even the actor himself managed to disguise it, it was clear from his facial expressions that he knew he wasn't telling the truth to Naksu... And it was just an example I gave of this confusing script...
If Jang Uk at the beginning of the 2nd season was already not well in the head because of Naksu and his painful past, at the end of the series it got even worse.... He meets someone new in ep 4 and he is practically "obliged" to kiss Jin Bu Yeon (seemed too forced), I swear I couldn't figure out if he felt the slightest bit attracted to her, if he had a crush on her (in ep 4 he sits watching her rebuild the stone tower), I didn't quite understand what meaning of it.. He also seemed like he never wanted to be home, always making excuses to sleep outside or to be at Park Jin's house in ep 4... Ep 5 he completely changes his attitude towards Jin Bu Yeon, doesn't it? being in love, but he feels something there, maybe, I don't know.. In ep 7 he finally admits to being in love with her, and I don't know if it's really true, or if it's forced.. In ep 9 he finds out he's nakso and accepts to stay with her even though he thought it was Jin Bu Yeon the whole time.. Supposedly in ep 4 he decided to go to the cliff and finish really move on.. But at the end the past comes back and we're back to ep 4 again.. it's a big mess.. Who is he really in love with?? I don't think even he knows anymore.. The meaning of this story was Jang Uk to have a new meaning for his life and to be happy again but it seems that he was worse than at the beginning of the season..... Strange script ...
Just finished 7th episode. 2nd season is so slow, the romance part is so forced. Story is plain stupid and feels…
Why do you think the romance is forced? I also think a little bit that from ep 4 to ep 5 it suddenly goes from strangers to intimates, but towards the end of ep 5 and then it feels natural, maybe that's wrong.
In the end, the rice cake wasn't bitter. But Jung Uk and the others were sure that by the rules it must be bitter…
I understand what you mean. But in ep 4 to ep 5 they go from strangers very quickly to intimate and he seems to have a completely different attitude towards Jin Bu Yeon in ep 5, it seems very sudden. In ep 4 he never had that attitude, seemed distant and didn't have any feelings for her..
Park Jin in ep 4 gave Jang Uk, Seo Yul, Park Dang-Gu a choice of three rice cakes. Does anyone know the meaning of the phrase Park Jin said and who it was addressed to ??? "Life is unpredictable, but you choose your own path. No matter how sweet or bitter it is, you must taste it and swallow it yourself" I couldn't understand
In ep 8 Jang Uk says to Jin Bu Yeon "I really like you", even in Nakso's face thinking it's Jin Bu Yeon *.* If it was Nakso's place I would have been furious! This season is bombing π
Can someone try to explain why Jang Uk kissed Jin Bu Yeon in episode 4? Before that kiss I don't think I ever saw interest on his part, or any visible attraction to her, but I'm not sure. I noticed that he often didn't want to sleep at home and slept elsewhere, I don't know if it was to "get away" from her because he didn't want a more intimate relationship with her. I swear I didn't realize until now the meaning of that kiss. In episode 5 he changed a lot of behavior from "strangers" to a little more "intimate"......
The two main protagonists carried the show together without a doubt!
I recommend it 100%
