I really admire Ryusei Yokohama. He did a wonderful job, his microexpressions were so on point, and his acting felt so natural. I absolutely loved the last episode it was truly healing β€οΈ
Ryusei Yokohama thoughts and comments on Nevertheless, The Shapes of Love: #3
"The story is like knowing you shouldn't get involved with this person, but still stepping into their world, nevertheless. I think it's something younger audiences experience and can relate to even more.""And it's not just limited to love but something broader, your sense of self-worth. Moreover, love doesn't depend on young ones only. It's perfectly fine even past 40. Even if you're in your 50's, 62, it's totally fine. In fact, you could reminisce about those times. It's okay even if you're 70 now, even 90. There are many different forms and sizes of love you could empathize to. Don't worry about it." π₯Ίβ€οΈ
Ryusei Yokohama thoughts and comments on Nevertheless, The Shapes of Love: #2 "I think it will be enjoyable on a deeper level, not just for the romance, but for much more. It's more of connection with people. Even if we get hurt through these bonds with others, we learn to overcome it in the end. Since it's a work that captures that essence, I would be happy if both fans of the original and those who haven't seen it yet can enjoy it."
Ryusei Yokohama thoughts and comments on Nevertheless, The Shapes of Love:
"It's a very popular work. But, I thought if we will just follow the same path (the korean ver), there would be no much meaning to it. There are also voices saying 'If that's the case, then just stick with the original'. So, while respecting the original series, we reconstructed a world where each of us are intertwined and made it a romantic ensemble drama."
(-) It was too short per episode, made everything become unclear. Like what is the ML and the other student motives…
Spoiler:
Ren came back to Japan because his childhood friend, Imai Chiki, is sick with cancer or something worse. π« He wanted to bring some " Colours" into her world, which is why he chose to do art vandalism. If I remember correctly, I think the other studentβs motivation is that he wants to be cool like Ren and make a name for himself
Ren had already seen the FL before the day she was with her ex-boyfriend. I think that's why he destroyed the art piece her ex-boyfriend created
Ren's friend Imai Chiki is quite toxic she wants to be with him even though heβs made it clear he can only see her as a precious friend and not as a boyfriend ππ
I do see that he loves Miu however, he needs to heal first or let her into his life and share his thoughts with her.
I hope other drama viewers have more insight! I love reading the comments β₯οΈ

I agree it's too shortπ I wish each episode were an hour long!
Have you seen all the released episodes yet? They show the reason why Ren did that. Read my second comment I'll leave it under a spoiler tag just in case.
I can't believe there's only one episode left It feels like there's so much more this drama could explore. And no, I already miss Ren. π Maybe there will be a second season with 8 episodes Fingers crossed π€
Don't wait until the end to rate this drama you can always change it later. ππ Letβs be honest, this is way too good to be just a 7.7. It deserves at least an 8.1!
I like this actor Fan Zhi Xin after watching Present, Is Present. I'll give this one a try, though I kinda don't trust short dramas they always seem to have the weirdest endings. But let's see π
Damn, nothing prepares you for this turn of events π
I don't know what I was expecting from the story, but definitely not that! π Suddenly, there's so much action and fight scenesβare they Yakuza or something? π π
Isn't it stupid to confess it was his fault? Such a dumb move. He could have just said it was because the group abducted the pianist, lol.
Anyway, if I had been prepared for this kind of story, I would have enjoyed it more. I really thought it was just going to be a sweet love story about two people healing together. Well the last two minutes with happy ending!! π
I've been looking only for dramas with happy endings, but I couldn't resist this one because it has a time travel theme, which I really like.
I read the comments, so I already know the ending is bittersweet, so I'm kind of prepared. This drama is really good and fun to watch. The male and female leads are great together, and the relationship between the mother and son is precious.
I've already finished watching 17 episodes. I thought I was prepared, but I can't imagine that sad ending. I'm so emotional right now π₯Ίπ
But still, I'm not regretting starting this drama. I'll keep watching and see how I feel after that. It's really a good, fun drama, with the only downside being the voice dubbing, which is so bad. Someone mentioned it, and now I can't un notice itπ. I've never seen dubbing this bad before.
I don't understand why some people are leaving negative comments about the female lead. She's literally doing her best to deal with her disability after the car accident! π Of course, getting into a relationship is hard for her β she needs to learn to love herself and allow a man to love her.
The male lead also has his own mental baggage to deal with, and the female lead is helping him heal. Together, they discover how to accept affectionate love, and they respect each other throughout the story.
Yes, the male lead is more patient, which I think is essential β at least one person needs to be calm and understanding at the beginning of a relationship. π In most C-dramas, the female lead is usually the patient one, so it's refreshing to see a male lead take on that role! It reminds me of the C-drama "You Are My Secret" where the male lead is also very patient and understanding until the female lead feels safe and comfortable.
Also, I don't understand how this is considered a slow-burn romance. They're kissing and showing affection with plenty of skinship! After watching "The Double," I donβt see this drama as a slow burn at all. π
Well, if thereβs something annoying, itβs the FLβs mom. Damn, sheβs been getting on our nerves every episode
Anyway, I enjoyed this drama more than I thought I would.
Li Xian is so good looking and an amazing actor, and Zhou Yu Tong did a great job too they have great chemistry together β€οΈπ¦
I'm at episode 14, and I think 100% I like this better than the Korean version. The acting is good, and the female lead is so pretty, sweet, and hardworking

Please, Ren is so hopelessly in love with Miu. When he imagined her face at the aquarium lol π
Minami Sara so pretty, and her side profile is absolutely stunning π
