Disappointed in FL and the story. Loved the actress.
I am very disappointed in what they did with the FL. I liked the actress though. All actors did a great job, and I loved the sets. I was super excited about the actress change, but it's just sad what they did to Naksu. The overall story had so much potential, but it nosedived. Uk became Neo from the Matrix. I haven't been this disappointed in a series since GoT.

Definitely worth watching and turning your brain on for.
I rewatched this recently and I gotta say, it's even better on a second watch because I was no longer confused about what was happening, everything made sense. In order to better understand the message and plot behind this one, I suggest looking into some Daoist and Buddhist, and even Stoicism philosophies. Especially messages about how desires, ego and attachments control human destiny, and how you're truly free only when you let go of those things, and let go of the wish to control and know everything.
The FL in the show is hands down my favorite character, although she's probably not going to be everyone's cup of tea since she's a complex and multifaceted character who is truly an antihero of the story. Her growth as a character is also very outstanding. I remember the first time I watched this, every time I started losing even a little bit of faith in FL's intelligence or capability, I was proven wrong. Episode 6 was hard to get through, but the end of that ep makes it worth it.
The FL is definitely not a Mary Sue, she's capable of going to any lengths to survive the unfair world propped against her.
As the ML says, she's neither evil nor good, she has her flaws and virtues.
The main actress in this does an AMAZING job, from the scenes where she's sad and losing it, to the happy scenes, she really acts well. Actor's baby-face doesn't match the character at all, but he does a good job too.
On YT most of the music is omitted due to copyright, so the sound is weird there overall, but the soundtrack we can hear is good. If you watch this on YouTube, don't watch the compiled version since scenes and even some episodes are cut / not included, just watch episode by episode to get the full story.
Overall, for a short drama, this just blew me away. It's better even than most long dramas, although I do acknowledge that it is probably not for everyone. I could probably write an essay about this and underlying messages in this drama.

The Author
I rewatched this recently and can't help but lament over again about the lost potential of the female lead and the story. I genuinely think that the story would have been much more interesting if the female lead was the author of the webnovel, that would make both the plot and her character much more interesting. Man, I would really like to see this story with that change. It's not like her character would have been irredeemable, after all how could she have known that her creations would become sentient, at the same time, it would make her more complex and she'd have to face herself and the reasons why she made her main character experience tragedy after tragedy.
But alas, we got what we got.
