I feel like this all started because he just didn't inform her about his investment in Hanhai. They would have talked about it and reached an agreement much earlier and sooner if they wanted to. Han Ting ignored it because Ji Xing told his grandpa she had no intentions of competing with Hanhai. But even though she didn't want to compete, she wanted independence for her company. But Ji Xing misunderstood, especially when she found that merging document. Han Ting shouldn't have kept it from her.
I think Ji Xing believed that by accepting Chang He's investment, she would preserve her company's independence and prevent the merger with Hanhai. By bringing in an external investor, she wanted to create a counterbalance to Han Ting's power and influence on her company.
I also think that the document she found in the safe was what drove her to choose Chang He, Han Ting's nemesis, as the investor and to hurt him. She was determined that Han Ting lied to her and used her company as a pawn. Plus, Han Ting literally told her that his definition of love was simply finding a good 'match.' Her emotions got the better of her.
Yes, Han Ting was right that Ji Xing has poor judgment. She just didn't know that Chang He and that witch cousin were cooperating. But that's literally not her fault.
Her plan completely backfired on her because Han Ting's position at Dongyang Group was threatened by Ji Xing's impulsive decision, so he did what he had to do to protect himself. He got the shares back, and now Han Ting has more power—exactly the opposite of what Ji Xing wanted.
Han Ting thought that what he did was best for both of them. No one can threaten his position now, and Xingchen is safe because it is under his control. Ji Xing's pride got hurt, forcing her to quit. Yes, she was impulsive, but she was doing a good job running her company.
