If we follow the timeline of the story, the arrangements will be :1. Dashing Youth 2. Blood River3. The Blood…
So there are also some inconsistencies between Dashing Youth and The Blood of Youth after all... I thought this only happens in the donghua (I watched the donghua version of both, though only the 1st season for donghua version of Dashing Youth, but even then some parts made me confused because it differs from what was told in TBOY).
I thought that the drama version would rectify those inconsistencies, but I guess not. π It probably has something to do with the original source material then. But nevermind, these series are worth watching. I just really love this universe. And so far, the TBOY gang is one of my favourites, both the drama and donghua version. Planning to watch Dashing Youth and Blood River soon. :)
If this was 'the ending that we want' according to Xu Haiqiao, then I am starting to question his understanding…
I've only watched up to episode 21 so far but skipped over to all Duan Jr and QQ's scenes because I want to know how their story goes. Well, in the process of doing so, I also spoiled myself with the overall story and ending...and I must say, at this point, I think about dropping it more often than not. But somehow, the cast made me stay...for now.
I'm a bit bummed that Duan Jr. and QQ didn't at least say goodbye to each other or have one last banter in the end (though it's sort of sweet that he thinks about going back to the hotel in the future for her cooking).
As for Xu Haiqiao, he seems to have a rather, for lack of a better word, unique view on this drama? He keeps promoting it as a drama suitable for all ages during the press tour when clearly it really isn't π . Or at least to me it isn't. I don't know. There's something that I couldn't quite put a finger on with some of his answers during the press tour but that's just probably me.
Btw, I don't know if you already knew about this but Xu Haiqiao recently joined the cast of Jiang Men Du Hou (aka The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage), starring Wang He Di and Meng Ziyi.
Xu Haiqiao has joined the team playing Xie Xingzhi.
May I know what sort of character he is in the story? Does he have any relation to Dylan Wang's character? Because it seems that they share the same surname.
Oh my, I also thought the same thing. Oftentimes, when I watched their scenes together, I like to pretend that…
I've only watched up until episode 19 (but spoiled myself with all Duan Jr. and QQ's scenes because they are one of the reasons that I watched this drama). Xue Rui is indeed warm and supportive, but he feels more like a big brother to QQ, in my opinion π . Duan Jr. doesn't really deserve QQ though with the way he is right now. So it makes sense that some people would ship QQ with Xue Rui. :)
On the other hand, QQ seems a bit flirty with Duan Jr. and did mention she doesn't do long-term relationships. So I'm guessing that if they do end up together in the end, it will probably be like some sort of a fling rather than a full-on romance.
The thing that I notice with these two is that QQ seems to be the only one who gets to see a side of Duan Jr. that isn't the brash, cocky and scheming persona that he usually puts on for others, and as QQ is pretty empathetic, I think she understands that the personality he shows is mainly a cover for his insecurities and struggles (he deserves it though), hence why she cared enough to approach him and make him feel better. This makes Duan Jr. noticeably warm up to her despite their frequent bickering earlier on (though as a result he becomes quite the tsundere with her π). And this setting is how the drama made it possible for the both of them to have some sort of relationship together (because I couldn't see how the drama was going to make it work until I saw their scene in episode 28).
Anyways, this is just my opinion. Ultimately, I'm just happy to see these two acting together again that it doesn't really matter to me if they end up together or not. At least their story here is an improvement for them than in LBFAD. :)
I believe that the chef and Duan jr are a reincarnation of their characters from Love between Fairy and Devil.…
Oh my, I also thought the same thing. Oftentimes, when I watched their scenes together, I like to pretend that they are just Ronghao and Chidi reincarnated in the human world and finally getting a chance at a good and peaceful life after everything they went through in LBFAD. π
Modern mature romantic Cdrama is truly something refreshing to watch after recent success and overwhelming buzz…
I'm pretty sure this drama was filmed after Memories Beyond Horizon because The Epoch of Miyu wrapped up filming around April last year.
In Memories Beyond Horizon, Xu Haiqiao mentioned that it had been around 1 year since both he and Guo Xiaoting finished filming Love Between Fairy and Devil in 2021. (In case you haven't watched LBFAD, both Guo Xiaoting and Xu Haiqiao play the role of master and disciple respectively in that drama.)
Well, Xu Haiqao seems to be a damn good actor, because I am sooo annoyed by Duan jr so far I want to strangle…
I feel the same way as you about Duan Aoxiang. π I've always liked Xu Haiqiao's roles in every drama I've seen him in so far, so I'd never thought there would actually come a day when I would feel sooo annoyed by him every time he makes his appearance that all I want to do is to slap him in the face whenever he acts obnoxious. I was happy when he got his comeuppance in episode 20, the way Miyu threw shade at him was so smooth and I especially love the part where Li Qiaoqi prepared that "special dinner" for him. π I thought he got humbled by that experience and would lie low for a while, but noo, he suddenly had to make an appearance in episode 22 and gave Miyu such a backhanded compliment at the lobby that I feel like I would strangle him on the spot if I were Miyu.
duan wearing Donna's wig needs to choke on a prawn.I can not wait for his demise
I'm a fan of Xu Haiqiao, and so far I've liked his roles in every drama I've seen him in, but his character in this drama really gets on my nerves π.
May I ask about what he said regarding his character and Li Qiaoqi? I'm only at episode 4 currently but I've been…
I see, thank you for sharing! I'm just happy I get to see them both onscreen together again after LBFAD, so I don't exactly mind how their relationship will turn out though I really do hope their storyline ends on a positive note. :)
I first saw Zhu Zhu in Why Is He Still Single, which I just finished before starting this drama. Zhu Zhu's performance was good in that drama but I often feel like she got outshined by the ML a lot (though it's really due to how both characters were written and directed, in my opinion). This drama really showcases her range, at least to me. She is indeed wonderful in this.
Well, Xu Haiqiao gave a major spoiler on a press conference about his character and Miyu's chef friend, so I am…
May I ask about what he said regarding his character and Li Qiaoqi? I'm only at episode 4 currently but I've been jumping over to their scenes whenever they make an appearance because both Xu Haiqiao and Guo Xiaoting are my favourites (I initially watched this mainly for Xu Haiqiao, then for Guo Xiaoting and Hai Lu before ultimately staying for Miyu because Zhu Zhu's performance is just killing it so far). I'm curious as to how their relationship will develop considering the way they are with each other now. π

You're right about it sounding so poignant and sad when the meaning is incredibly hopeful that I'm pleasantly surprised by it. It makes me love the song a lot more.
I can totally relate being obsessed with a C-drama theme and ended up listening to it on repeat as I recently did that earlier this year with My Destined Consort's and Starlight's ending theme. I practically listened to them whenever I could, and those songs became my earworm for weeks on end. π I still listen to them almost everyday on my drive home from work nowadays. I'm suspecting that this song will be the same for me in due time - my head is already playing the chorus repeatedly since the first time I heard it.
I used to only listen to Japanese songs a lot, having been only an anime and J-drama fan in the past. So, I'm so glad that I got introduced to the C-drama scene in recent years as I get to listen to their amazing and beautiful OSTs, which sometimes surpass some Japanese songs which I thought were amazing. It makes my current playlist so much more interesting with all the rich selection of songs that I can pick from now.
I think what makes C-drama soundtracks so beautiful is because of their skillful arrangement and use of instruments but more importantly, these songs are usually created with the plot or certain characters in mind, which is why I sometimes get attached to these songs, because they will remind me of a scene or a character.
It's probably a loss to the rest of us for now. But I'm hopeful that these songs will make a ripple someday. Otherwise, I'll just cherish the fact that, even though my family and friends don't listen to these soundtracks, there are fans out there who appreciate these songs. :)
Just in case you are as obsessed about that ending theme song as I am, I did a little bit of research and, here's…
Thank you for sharing this link. I find myself obsessed with the chorus because it sounds so beautiful and the song just gets more beautiful and profound when I read the translation. :)
Happy birthday! πππ I remember falling head over heels for this wonderful actor 3 years ago since the first time I saw him as Ronghao in LBFAD. I find myself falling for his acting and personality all over again since earlier this year after watching him as Lu Jingming in My Destined Consort. I've been binge-watching videos and dramas of him again since then. It's nice to see him try out different types of roles and still give a magnetic performance each time he's on screen, no matter how big or small the role is. Also, he always has such a nice smile and I love his dorky laugh - they just always make me happy. Looking forward to his future works and hope that he will continue to live a long, good and happy life. π
