I read the comments because I wanted to know if I should watch (it's long as these dramas usually are so I didn't want to invest time if I wasn't going to like it) but I heard good things about this show and then I hear it's overhyped so I thought I should just watch for myself. The rating is high I hope I do like it.
I though ML was well casted. Some stuff they did better then previous version other stuff they didn't. The chemistry was good enough. However they made it too long imo. I give it 7/10.
I like the trope used and the premise but I think Beitang is outshined ML so I developed 2nd lead syndrome here. Overall it was pretty good but I was rooting more for the uncle.
Her agency is way too greedy; they are plenty of A list actresses now who are in their 20s who are now big popular…
I heard she's now casted in a new drama with Ao Rui Peng (one of the actor's who work I like) in upcoming drama. I'm not trying to hate on this girl but it's disturbing to me that she's 17 going to be barely 18 and they are pairing her up with 30 year old actor (This becoming like a trend and I hate it). If other people are ok with that sure but not me since now I am aware of her age I just get the ick knowing the age gaps. Don't know much about c-net but don't they have actresses who are above atleast 20 to cast as leads anymore? even as a fan of Rui Peng and wanting to watch his shows I'll have to skip that one very sad if she's playing romantic lead. It's crazy to me that they insist on this a younger sister role I can see her in but as romantic interest with that gap no way.
ML was so unlikable FL was good but it just wasn't for me. Anyway I can now cross off my list. On a positive note this has the cutest poster I've seen for modern cdrama love the pose.
Great premise started great and then was a chore to get through. At an hour each episode and boy does it drag. I don't know sometimes I think they should cut the episode runtime maybe then the story telling would be tighter in these kdramas but it was ok could have been better.
I went in thinking it was like a thriller suspense..well I regret watching it, It's so disturbing and the guy who played the main role was so on point I was outraged, disgusted and tramautized by him (of course I know his only acting). I have a weak stomach but after his first kill I couldn't look away out of morbid curiosity it was so graphic I don't even know how to rate this movie.
It's been a minute since I've seen both PitBabe and PitBabe 2 I immediately recognized the two on the poster and the poster drew me in (posters are so important I think marketing needs to focus on that more nowadays but I digress). Ok so speaking as someone who has not read the book I have to say I was left with many questions which were not clearly ironed out throughout the narrative . However, I just know I was invested in this show to a degree that I haven't been into any bl series lately. The romance here is sweet and slow burn filled with romantic tension sprinkled though out and delivering by the end imo. So I think the romance was nicely executed. The plot though has it's own share of flaws like I said I won't list as not to spoil but just like in PitBabe 2 somethings left me scratching my head the last 2 episodes. The effects were cool I really liked the makeup. The soundtracks are good in this show they create the right atmosphere. The editing was better then in PitBabe. Now the acting I would say it's good enough. Let's talk Thup's actor in particular (since so many mention him) when I saw him as Charlie I had my criticisms but I fast learned to understand that less is more in this case because of the types of characters he has been given. I think he still needs to improve but I see growth as Thup did not feel the same as Charlie. I do wish somethings would have been different but I give this a high rating for just being something enjoyable and fast to binge.
Personal opinion is I was neither wowed by the romance (just felt bland) or the conclusion to the case (like they did surprise me by who it was but also with the build up they had it didn't make sense). I didn't like it much but I'm glad it was a short watch of 12 episodes well almost done. A promising premise but I didn't like the execution.
It's better if you go in not knowing spoilers I feel like the plot relies on having some plot-twists. This is not a drama you watch expecting a nice story with sympathetic characters (only Than really). This is a more dramatic story about a dysfunctional(to say the least) family's power struggle then romance but I enjoyed that the romance nonetheless because it's not a typical one you usually see in these types of shows. This drama is not for everyone the style is very lakorn (elements) indeed but I enjoyed the journey and even though the ending gets a lot of criticism it was very fitting for the show.
I don't find sex scenes offensive or shocking in my pov I'm ok with a mature scene here or there those types of scenes can even said a tone or say a lot about a character if done well. However here this movie had nothing really going for it. I was bored despite the sex scenes. The movie doesn't make you engage with the characters at all or a story imo.
A hard watch very disturbing but very sad at the same time I am torn because this movie has some hard painful stuff to watch but it is a good movie but I wouldn't watch it again personally.
And long it was too long. If you watch for the story I think it's better then to watch for the non-existent romance. The romance is so badly executed imo. The story had some interesting points here and there but drags sometimes especially with the high episode count I got bored more then a couple of times I wanted to skip some parts so badly. And with no romance except 2nd couple to fill in the time(they might as well been the main couple) I was fighting to stay awake. The actors did a good job acting especially ZL. The FL made some dumb choices she was frustrating (I was almost as frustrated with her as ML was). Great for a one time watch for me.
It started so strong and interesting but then towards the end lost punch. There were a couple things that irked me. I invested so much time to be let down. FL was ok I normally don't like actresses who act so emotionless and stoic (here it felt more in keeping with her role but it gets boring to say the least when you already know what to expect every episode). ML was good at changing the feel of his character from defenseless to be more assertive but him alone is not enough to carry a romance. The last episodes felt like a different story I don't know. the side characters are unlikable many times. I don't know I guess this just wasn't for me or something. If they have a season two I won't be watching for sure.
