Gong ShangJue is the best character
I may sound biased, but this is the first time I watched the entire series for not the Male Lead, but the second Male Lead.Gong ShangJue is absolutely perfect. He's smart, capable( more than enough capable,actually) and devoted to his clan. he knows how to keep his head in the game, even when he's cornered. and does not let anything cloud his judgement. even when he keeps plotting against Yun WeiShan, I wanted to support him.
and the way he takes care of Gong YuanZhi, like it was just as easy as breathing or blinking. and he is so fiercely protective of his people. I'm totally Fangirling over him right now 😍😍😍😍
the rest of the cast is also good. and Gong ZiShang - Jin Fan have the most ridiculously hilarious screen time.

it's phenomenal ?
a perfect screenplay, a perfect cast and brilliant music and the cute silly bts moments...once you watch it, there's no going back. you are forever a part of this world called The Untamed. life is never the same. Both Wang YiBo as HanGuang Jun and Xiao Zhan as The YiLing LaoTzu have done a brilliant job, and so has Wang Zhuo Cheng, Xue Yang and everyone else. and the OST is so good!!! I have the entire OST on my most played list. no matter what, once you watch this, you will keep coming back for it.

Good story
this is a good drama. strong actors, decent plotline. the paranormal part is also very intriguing and vfx is quite well done ( apart from the fact that many night scenes are shot during the day and then turned to night.. I mean, you can just look at it and say, 'this was a day shot'.)although I do feel that the Sand Eye was just a forced existence. disappearing after a cameo.
Ni Ni has done a fab job with portraying Ye LiuXi. you will straightaway get the vibe of a smart, badass woman who's practical and fearless and yet sensitive to those close to her.
Bai Yu's Chang Dong is such a sweet character. (my heart literally melted everytime he smiled.... so cute)
He portrays the silent strength of an ordinary man. even when facing trouble, he will think of his people first.
deductive, intelligent and patient.
I loved Xia Meng portraying Ding Liu (Xiao Liu). that is such an adorable character. if I rewatch the show, it'll be only for Xiao Liu
and Meng ZiYi felt a bit disappointing. the entire screen time, it felt like she has facial paralysis. the only time I liked her was when she is acting the scene where the Geminus becomes her character.
overall, a decent drama, although I think it has a lot of romance for an adventure story. but, maybe that's how the plot is I guess.

good casting
I think casting is the only strong point here.watching Xiao Zhan is a treat.he looks so cute.
Calvin Chen also did great job as Tang San's Master
story is as good as it gets, although I did feel it was a bit too descriptive at times.
ost is my least favorite thing in the drama. especially the title track. listening to it makes me feel like this would fit more to a modern day drama. and no other remarkable background scores.
and the costumes also could have been better.
overall, good watch for the cast and acting.
