The trailer looked boring, the synopsis doesn't sound that interesting but Bai Lu is in it so I'll give it a try…
It may seems boring but the novel it is based on has won some top literary awards. Also, its good for Bai Lu to do some non-idol/mainstream dramas since it is taken more seriously by cnetz. I wanted her to expand her acting skills in different areas, as she has always done.
If we go by what a lot of Bai Lu fans say, many of the pairings people want aren't likely to happen. They say…
You're right about billing being a big deal but it's not unheard for two top stars to take equal billing. For example, Yang Yang and Dilreba equal billed for You Are My Glory, so it definitely isnt so that Bai Lu can't pair with a big name. Her management company though, makes these decisions for her but i agree with you that i dont think she cares for top billng at all.
Haha, im split. The build up for the bed scene in LIS was better, in my opinion. There was so much sexual tension between LYX and BL. BUT the hottest/spice factor is more in OFL with the way the bed scene looks.
I noticed that Bai Lu hasn't worked with many different male leads like other actresses. She's worked with many…
For Allen, the story was made into two part dramas. For the others, the CPs have been such big hits that people want the pairing again (and producers are willing to invest) and i think Bai Lu enjoys working with leads she has formed a bond with. She often also chooses directors again as well (for example director of SOKP and Chasing the Moon are the same).
what's her best light rom/com drama? I watched Only for love and looking for any other drama like it ❤️
Love is Sweet! Her and Luo Yunxi have insane chemistry and banter in it (ignore the first few kiss scenes because they're super tropey, but it gets better and better). One of my top rom-coms ever.
Really looking forward to this! I'm so happy Bai Lu tries new genre's and doesnt stick to the same thing. Mainstream realism dramas are harder to do and require more nuanced screen work, also they're more valued in chinese entertainment landscape. This will be her second one after Ordinary Greatness. I hope this one also gets a Magnolia award nomination (one of the most prestigious awards).
I heard Bai lu will take a 3-4 month break next year. That means we will likely get only 1 drama in 2024 and 2…
Yes this makes me sad 😭 but she seems to be wanting a break and talks about travelling a lot in her interviews. I think she just wants to enjoy some time away.
But i love fresh pairings for her!
