About the Anil/Anin that's what I was trying to say, most interfans use the names they see on the subtitles, while others use the ones translated from thai fans, then both names end up being used.

Yes in Affair her nickname is "wan" but actually her name is ปัญญาพัชร วังพงศ์สถาพร so "วัง" is Wang = palace, but yes Wan could be weither sweet (หวาน) or day (วัน), in this case neither, but day is closer.

I don't know much BL series but I loved that little word play with "Rak Diao".

Agree! The language barrier can be a huge issue, lots of puns and jokes are difficult to understand (and most of the times go unnoticed) and interfans rely on the explanations from Thai fans. But thai language is really fun to learn, when I watch a series and understand their jokes it feels so rewarding :))

Despite the different interpretations when translating from thai to english/etc, the names also end up having different romanized ways to be written, then different people use different names for the same character hahaha (like in the loyal pin Anin/ Anil- because thai people often avoid the "r or l" )

I understand why many artists are being reluctant, more than 3 gl series so far used AI instead of creative works :/
