Okay so for anyone interested in the real story from the novel, the entirety of the drama is actually Qiushi's 12th door. I saw the dram and rally like the but due to the terrible subtitles couldn't make out much of the plot so I ended up reading the novel and Oh was I surprised. In the novel Ruan Nanzhu is the God of the last door and Lin Qiushi is actually the leader of Obsidian entering his 12th door. The story starts from there as a total blank. I really wished they had kept some of the original ending even if they did have to remove the romance equation.
Can someone please tell me why GMMTV has removed so many of their shows off their you tube channel? Tale of a thousand stars, this series, star in my mind? Why ?
No breakups no rotten story plots and no love triangles squares hexagons. Its simple and crisp and really fresh compared to normal c-dramas adapted from novels. At least the novel did not have any and I hope they keep it that way.
I wasn't to keen on this drama but I love the author's work so ended up reading the novel. And can I say I fell in love ...even if the drama delivers true to its novel ...I can assure you this will be the best year end ever. No unnecessary drama, villains or plot twists. Its a simple straightforward story that feels so real and down to earth.
But i guess that makes it just more appealing, the fluffy and feel good story that could make up for the terrible year that i had. I'm glad I decided to invest my time in this drama
ZXN feels indebt to him and promises to learn the qin and play for him everyday. This is like the final stroke to the start of their relationship cause she already knows he has feelings for her, but now she herself ends up creating this strange bond with him.
Just shows that XW isn't the typical hero we read of or see on screen but that just makes him seem more real
Not soon it happens 2 years in the future. After the princess is married off and JXN elder sister gets marries to the second prince she leaves the capital for 2 whole years and just focuses on her business. After that XW comes to meet her and basically this starts starts the last leg of the story. XW literally stabs himself, by forcing XN ( she doesn't do it herself) and then he also like drives a dagger through his own hand. So yeah a lot of the actual drama is left
I am really worried now. I love xie wei he is becoming one of my fave MLs now but no way in hell would I fall…
He literally manipulated her slow and steady into falling for him. If you have seen in the trailer there's a scenes where he drives a dagger through his hand, its probably the turning part of ZXN's feelings for him(This was basically a test for him to leave his sect under the rebels as stated in the novel...don't know how they will show it in the drama). XW's only love is playing the qin and when he sacrifices it for XN she can't help but fall for him. Because in the beginning if you remember when she trips XW lets her fall but catches the qin.
There is supposed to be a gap of two years when they do not meet each other and that is when XW discovers that he too cannot always keep his feeling buried and how much of his priorities have changed. I must say he turns real clingy later
Can you plz tell me what happens to xw’s father and half brother. I know everyone’s ending except for theirs🥺
As you can expect of someone like him who spent a whole 20 years planning his revenge he just wiped out the entire family on the same day- his father, brother and sister and also his aunt- the dowager empress and the king as well. But he didnt kill the princess and the prince in this lifetime.
I couldn't control my curiosity and binge read the novel in 3 days. Let me just say that Xie Wei is probably the most complex character I have ever read of. I would guarantee his MBTI is INTP. He loves Yan Lin but is jealous of him as well (Th guy seriously needs some therapy). But the main point of the story is that it portrays how humans are flawed even if they are the main characters. I read some spoilers if anyone is interested.
Spoiler 1: In the original timeline Xie Wei kills himself with the same knife he gave to Ning'er with which he wanted her to actually kill Yan Lin( I was like WTF) Spoiler 2: Zhang Ze is like Ning'er and actually remembers his previous lifetime where he is killed. Spoiler 3: The book does have a happy ending and Ning er and Xie Wei get married and have 2 kids
OMG my surprise. This is so unexpected. This way darker than any of the dramas that the main cast have appeared in ... and can I say they are doing a great job.
This drama really shook me to the core. There was not a single moment where I felt the the story was lagging or the acting was superficial or forced. And omg this is how you make scary dramas without the unnecessary jump scares, the ones that linger on your mind and make you look around twice. Its been a while since I've seen a drama without a single press of the skip button.
PS.: I was a bit sad that there are only 12 episode which often leads to the the ending being hasty and not great but I have high hopes from this one. Fingers crossed. And for anyone deciding whether to go for it by skimming through the comments I would definitely recommend it.
Is it just me or is the drama way off track from the novel. The main reason I started watching the drama was because I read the novel and loved it...But now I am just confused.
