Considering that this drama is not even in such big promotions such as variety shows or magazines, it could still achieve 10K heat index, 12.2% marketshare on Yunhe (#2) and 11.74% on Kuyun (#3) Pretty impressive, right?
A drama with exquisite cinematography and popular cast line usually let the viewers just enjoy the breath-taking scenes and characters' stunning visuals. But Edward Guo always added mysterious factor to his dramas, that keep the viewers's brains working around the plots, moving on with the characters and their schemes. Having a drama with original script is a bonus, with no one knows about the major plotlines. It feels like arranging the pieces of a puzzle. Veil of Shadows is so far the best of EG's dramas and like the perfection of the previous and precious 2 dramas, FOF and MJTY, with its romance arc. The bgm for most scenes was always on point, although a bit overwhelming during intense fight scenes.
The romance was outstanding for both couples. Ju Jingyi + Tian Jiarui and Joseph Zeng + Chen Duling chemistry were top notch. They immersed wholly into their characters and delivered each love story with their own charms. For now, I am particularly drawn to Jiling & Lu Wuyi's story. The grand love yet tragic inevitable fate between the one who supposed to guard the world and one who brought calamity made their love story such a heart wrenching yet addicting one. ~ Just my two cents.
PS. 13 episodes out of 29. I do not mind at all if it was 100 episodes. Edward Guo added gorgeous young man in each episode is truly a blessing for my vision 🤭

This drama has 29 episodes and both couples have pretty much enough coverage on their love stories. Some WuWu fans's complaint of them being side casted is a joke, because in term of screen time, the hot couple got their moments before JiLu did.
It is interesting if they think 'bringing the noise' here means sharing opinions. IT IS NOT. Many people have access to Weibo here but did not share every single piece of information from the platform, especially not the unreliable sources posted by fandom.
