If at any given point in time she had realised that she was way in over her head with the deal - that it has turned out to be way more than she had bargained for - and had expressed her desire to put an end it to YCX to no avail, I would have understood her rebelliousness thus far...BUT SHE HASN'T, well up until the end of ep 14 (I have not watched ep 15, so I don't know if she may have done so there).
Okay, I see things differently; YPJ is not the innocent wallflower in the situation that she is currently in, she walked into his house with the intention of giving herself to him - of her own volition. Now, are the circumstances that forced her hand ideal? Absolutely not, but that does not take away from the fact that this was supposed to be a TRANSACTION: She would be with him in exchange for her fiance's freedom. That was the agreememt. She agreed to it. The very second she walked into that room, took off her shawl, and asked if they should start, she agreed to it.
However, she has not kept her end of the bargain thus far, but somehow is so arrogantly expecting him to keep his. I am baffled by it really. I think somewhere inside of her she was probably hoping that YCX's feelings for her would help her get what she wants without demanding accountability in return - all the while hating and calling him names mind you. He did not put her in this position. For a situation that should normally not have had any other outcome than death for JXT, he has gone against the rules to find one for her.
As a matter of fact, if his dad had still been in charge, YPJ and her mum would not have escaped from this mess unscathed. There is a high chance that he would have had them brought in for questioning (aka some torture time) with the argument that they have been JXT's family since he lost his and there were the 'only' known people he has associated with since his return, so there is no way they neither saw nor heard anything. Subsequently, she could also have been accused of getting close to YCX on purpose to pave the way for her fiance to get into the military, and with her track-record of writing the play that criticised the government over their handling of the refugees not too long ago in the past, she could have been placed in the same bandwagon as JXT.
To be honest with you all, I really do not fault YCX for getting so upset with her. Now stop there for a second, does that excuse his way of showing his anger? Noooo, it doesn't. Nonetheless, her reaction towards JXT since this fiasco began has been nothing short of infuriating: She has not outrightly condemned his actions, she has defended him, she has not directed any of her irritation or anger at him, and now she has even thrown her pride and dignity away to save him. The very person she should be hating for putting her in this mess in the first place is the very person she keeps missing and reminiscing about. Honestly, I really wish YCX had allowed her face the music; because right now she does not understand that his protection is the only reason she has options in this situation to begin with.
I really want him to stop indulging her for a while, otherwise she is never going to see and understand his worth.
Now I might be in the minority with this opinion, which I am fine with btw 😂, however, I really need YCX to get to that point in his understanding of love where he truly respects YPJ's wish to cut off all contact. I need him to stop being so readily available for her and her whims, because if he never stops, she is never going to understand and appreciate a few things about what is going on within and around her. Namely:
i) YCX has spoilt her (before you bite my head off, hear my out) : So from as early as episode 2, it became quite obvious that YPJ has had an innate understanding that YCX treats her quite differently, she has privileges that others do not: 1) He has never held her accountable for slights for which others would been severely punished , and 2) He is always readily available to grant her an audience, even on occasions when he knows that the topic of discussion may pertain to things that he would rather chew cinder blocks than listen to, e.g., anything relating to JXT😂. Now, for a lady who holds a lot of bias towards YCX and has made it clear that she hopes they would not have anything connecting them in the future, YPJ has had no qualms acting on her privileges in all of their interactions, to the point that in some instances it has bordered on exploitation. For example, barging into his office (a powerful warlord/commander, mind you) to demand to know if he gave the order to close down the drama troupe; demanding to know why a commander would make one of his soldiers spar with other soldiers; and then we have my personal favourite, asking him to release a military criminal who is on death row just because she asked nicely. I am so baffled by her actions in this situation; she does not even attempt to ask for a lighter sentence or offer YCX any information that could be used to negotiate JXT’s release (e.g., paper trail or something that she found in JCX’s house which could provide a lead on his fellow partners in crime) …no,no, no, she does not do any of that. I mean why bother putting in any effort when you can just try exploiting his blatant feelings for you; said feelings you have claimed you do not particularly care for, however, you clutch your pearls and get all offended when he reminds you that he may purr for you, but that doesn’t make him your everyday cat 😂 (what a silly goose you).
ii) Point numero dos, since ep 7/8, YPJ has subconsciously started wanting YCX’s attention whenever they are in the same vicinity and he hasn’t already approached her to strike up a conversation. Like she would literally walk up to him or call out to him unprovoked. A big example of this would be in that scene in episode 8 where he was trying to catch his breath after he watched her being splashed with water: YPJ walked up to him unprovoked just to ask him why he was there, like she had any business knowing that, and he rightfully called her out on that as well which earned him this perplexed response “why are you suddenly losing your temper?”…ehm young lady, you said did not want any connection with him, remember?? Why are you seeking him out to begin with?? Something similar also happened in episode 9 when the Yu family was visiting the refugee camp: While YCX was distracted trying to digest the shock of just how deeply his feelings for YPJ ran - after he thought she had been hurt - didn’t my homegirl call out to him asking “can I help you?”. Mind you, she was not the only person there at the time, but she just had to be the only one to call out to him, well I guess she couldn’t help herself .
Now, I am not saying that she has to reciprocate his feelings (because she definitely doesn’t need to do that), nor am I condoning his crazy behaviour in the past few episodes. However, that does not take away from the fact that there are also things he has done for her which she definitely needs to start recognising and showing a bit of appreciation for, especially pertaining to the mess JXT has created. She can hate his obsessive behaviour while also being appreciative of his help, these two truths can co-exist. Therefore, in my opinion, until he stops being available with his protection, she will not realise just how protected he has kept her - his crazy behaviour aside, that is.
