the only thing that made me curious here is the BF. i wondered how their relationship will end esp since the BF is not the cheater type character. but then I saw the BFs opinion on her doing business and the best friend who admire the BF and that's it, I lost it. it doesn't help that Seven Tan character is a stubborn but stupid type character

i like cheng xiao and she really did great in FIYS but I think that's because of xu kai coz I just finished FOF and I'm back on my first impression of her acting. even the rookie who played her brother is more expressive than her

I laugh hard at the title. EXACTLY! where is it? there's seriously none whatsoever. I stopped at episode 2 and I'm not planning on continuing even for xu kai. The plot is basic and the characters are dull. I'm the kind of audience that likes to look at things from the person perspective to understand why they do the things they do and I tell you, there's nothing in this that makes me want to understands the characters. I like xu kai but why does he always get paired with FLs that have expressionless face? I love cheng xiao but let's face it, it was xu kai who pulled off Falling into your Smile. this is such a disappointment esp when I just finished Her perfect husband (but that's FL centric) and now I'm deliberating wether to watch best choice ever or not

just started this and I'm only on ep 2 but I'm already considering dropping. that girl boss is pissing me off, this kind of character is starting to get really boring that it spoils the whole thing for me. some please tell me does this kind of person exists in real life or this a cultural thing? is it a control thing? is it just me who hates this kind of character? like girl it's not like you're some damsel that needs saving, you're the boss, someone who have actual power. why insist on someone whose not interested? this year is complete bore for c drama land

If you enjoyed this, you will definitely enjoy MJTY even more. The motif of FOF is "to sacrifice oneself for the greater good" while MJTY is about finding oneself. The characters are entirely different so you'll see the depth of each actor/actress

I consider it a "pallet cleanser" from all of the heavy dramas I've been watching

At first I was like "why is this fast paced?" from 1-5, you already knew who and what are the roles of everyone so of course you kinda knew what the ending would be like. Then we get to the chill middle part were the guy relentlessly chase the girl and while the girl is busy making money. There's no unnecessary misunderstanding, no intense fights between the wives and the mistresses/wannabe wife. Its a feel good drama for me. This is a new take cause most dramas would start light and then slowly build the story up to the climax, this is one is just a simple story about a General whose loyal to his country but is also just another guy who wants to be with the person he loves. No intense political plots, no drag

Watched Blood of youth, currently watching this and just finished the Shao Nian Ge Xing
novel. I tell you, Yi Wenjun is one cold hearted b*tch. Can't really say she's selfish but I guess that's the martial arts world for you, they place duty above everything else. She married Xiao Roujin coz she have a filial duty to her master and to her sect. She bore him a son coz that's her duty as a Wife. Since she already gave her father the political alliance he wants, her husband the political backer and an heir to boot, she already completed her duties, so she went off and played house with YDZ then also bore him a son as "fruit" of their love. But then she also have duty of being a mother to her eldest son and there's no way for her to do that other than to abandon her lover and her youngest. And when Xiao Yu is at the end of his journey to the throne, her husband is almost dead, her son's competition to the throne are almost non existent and backed by a powerful Eunuch, she went off with LQY coz she's done with her "duties". Reading the novel makes me her hate her less but I'm not planning on reading the novel for Dashing Youth coz I am still pissed at her knowing the outcome of her "duties". Go read the novel, it's seriously good.

I think the reason she's hesitant to choose FL is because she can picture how their life would become and what to expect. How it will start, how it will go and how it will end. It's the perfect example of the stable life her Grandpa told her about but it's not the kind of life she would like to live

XY wants someone who will put her first. That's her number 1 requirement for a lover. Xiang Liu values gratitude to his benefactor over his own feelings for XY so he's a no go while Cang Xuan wants both love and power. dude be so greedy that he married someone else to get to that goal, banking on the idea that XY will always be with him but then get mad when she's shown interest on someone else. Feng Long got attracted to her because they "match" each other the best. At the very least he's honest about it. The two of them knew that whomever they marries, it's not going to be about feelings, it's about what benefits the other person can bring on the table. That's why they are always open and honest when they talked about their prospect marriage. And don't even get me started with Tushan Jing, that guy is the biggest idiot of all. Like being pure and kind is good and all but in the era and the life you lived? at least try to detect if someone want to do you harm and protect yourself. He thought his brother will love him again if he doesn't say anything. dude the guy literally tortured you for 3 years, dropped you off the street to be humiliated and you think that's it?? The biggest betrayal he made to XY is when he drank that aphrodisiac given by his grandmother. XY taught him medicine so knowing he drank it willingly makes it even more painful because she waited for him for so many years, not just the 15years he promised but failed to keep.

I was not paying attention when season 2 dropped and all of my feelings from this season resurfaced. I'm not in the mood to watch S2 yet so I'm dropping my comment here instead. I would rather XY does not end up with any of them FR. or maybe get Feng Long. He's a much better choice than the other 3.

agree with the chemistry thing. watched ep 1 and stopped half way through. I've been putting this off and still can't decide if I want to resume or not

TBH (and unpopular opinion) I like LTG. LTG prefers brave, courageous and kind woman just like his shifu. His Shifu is the first person who showed him attention and kindness, something that he didn't receive even from his own mother so I kinda understand his obsession. When you live in an era where dignity and honor is valued more than life and the strong bullying the weak is normal, showing a small speck of affection is enough for someone to be loyal to you forever. That's why he hates Yang Ying when he thought she's a prince because he felt threatened esp when he knew that Yang Ying is also Ruyi's disciple. BUT that changed when he found out she's a princess and when he witnessed her struggles after that

I love the casting here. Undoubtedly, they are great artist but just like everyone else, I'm kind of skeptic as the difficulty level of the characters are extreme. I'm not sure if they can pull it off. I also don't think they will fully adopt the novel nor sk version so a lot of scenes will probably be change which is not making me anticipate watching this. I've only watched SHR once (yes, i took it that hard cause that shit is heart wrenching) and I'm not planning on re watching without season 2. I think GMMTV will probably play safe this one

does anyone know if this is a novel adaptation? This is quite old and the shorts that I was seeing are cringe to me. I don't want to ruin Lusi in my head as love like the galaxy left such a big impact on me so i'd rather read the novel if there is one.

I think the kid is just Chu Yue's wishful thinking as she terribly miss Yu Shisan. It's kind of odd to me to see all of them riding horses in her vision as she doesn't have much interaction with the other cast. Only with Shisan and Ruyi so when she ask the kid to go to their house, it's probably her dying.

Anyone who knows what the story line would be?

I haven't watch that many Martial Arts drama but this is definitely at the top of my list only because of the fight scenes. If you're looking for well executed fights, then this is for you. The story line is good but not that great and the lead characters are in badly NEED of development.

Thoughts -
FL and ML characters are quite dull TBH. I'm not even surprise with the ending given that the plot is about a spy falling in love with her target and I was about even hoping that Wufeng would send her corpse to Gong Ziyu to kick off that Revenge plot. At least that would give GZY reason to go over to the dark side and be cunning or at least reach Gong Shangjue level of mind. But, since there's the "twin" in the mix, it's probably going to be killing-FL-then-send-the-twin scheme. I just hope the twin will have a better character than the original.

Side couple are more interesting to the point that they outshine the leads, heck even Gong Yuanzi is more eye catching. FL is dull coz she doesn't have any goal unlike SFL. Shangguan Qian have her revenge in mind while Yun Weishan just want freedom, be it from Wufeng, the Gong Mansion, or from Life itself. That's why SGQ is cunning which matches her target that is even more cunning.

I need Season 2 for this because I want to see how they would develop the Main lead characters and I need to see what would happen to the side couple, esp if SGQ is really pregnant as GSJ gives more importance to family than his lover.

I am like that but you're bound to get discourage when you see a bunch of 5-7 star rating when looking for recommendations. Good thing I don't listen to recommendations 🤣🤣
