...then the kid appears, with NING surname, so I immediately googled whether there's a chatter about explanation, and this makes sense and viable as an option, with hints picked up from throughout the episodes and deductions
Also, throughout all episodes, RRY and NYZ are never hinted ever make love, and they're still shy with kisses. so they should do it AFTER the war. Other than that, there is a second kid, a sister, so unless she's a twin which the boy doesn't mention, then both ML FL are alive for making the second kid.
Dunno who the kid refers to when he said uncle Ding that gave him the horse (Deng Hui ? can't read Chinese so cant confirm with the Chinese subtitle) or probably just random villager.
