It's not a "S+" drama, but rather a"S" one. In fact, the budget was quite limited the productor even said was in bankruptc and some of Xu Kai’s scenes were never filmed. Initially Xu Kai’s fans (Alaso) tried to boycott the drama after seeing an incomplete script, but they ultimately decided to support it after seeing the Xu Kai travel to Thailand and Vietnam to promote it. Many extras even demanded payment for their work, I don’t know if they ever got paid, I had assumed they would try to claim payment while the drama brocast, but that didn’t happen. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Besides, how could Xu Kai play a secondary role in a drama? He always has to be the male lead, so naturally, he’s going to do dramas where he gets the FL. I read that on Weibo, yeah maybe only was a rumor, but I never said he turned down the drama because he wouldn't end up with the female lead; I said he was filming another drama at the time. Besides she doesn't love Li Congxin, she only agreed to marry him because she angry with Shen Run and he told her not to kill Xie Shu, what she doesn't realize that was the Emperor who ordered that doing nothing to Xie Shu and protect him. 😘🤷🏻‍♀️

It seems like Xu Kai has been starring in dramas to suit every taste lately, but to be honest, I’m enjoying "Spring of the Blade" more because I love romance and revenge dramas. That said, I have to highlight his great performance in "Eight Hundred", especially the scene where he is forced to kill the drug trafficker, I interpreted it as an act of self defense, since the trafficker was trying to kill him, too. 😘🤷🏻‍♀️
