started this a while ago, gave up after a few epi but decided to give it another shot because I really do love Jang Na Ra and Choi Jin Hyuk and also because of the review Sam-I-Am gave it. Sam-I-Am made me laugh and especially his references to the show being on crack. He also was right on the mark when he said although the Emperor was a murderer, you do get to points where you say, well maybe he's not so bad after all. Sunny, the new Emperess is completely clueless, at least during the first 10 epi, which is where I'm at right now. Love the Dowager Empress...that lady has spunk. As far as his assessment about Choi Jin Hyuk's character being as dry as toast, I think, he missed the point that this is exactly who the character is supposed to be. 56 epi is going to make for a long show. I just hope someone has Karma visit them soon. EDIT: I'm at epi 46 and am I weird for feeling sorry for the Emperor? He's an evil man, there is no doubt about that, he's killed or had killed numerous people, he's a weak man, letting his mother control his life. But when I watch him in the scenes with Emperess Sonny, I think that he's a man who would have done well with a good woman, not one who is only concerned with the power they could get through him. I really don't know how much more of this show I can watch, each epi I'm begging for the Dowager Empress to have a big pot dropped on her head, Princess Ah Ri mother to be pushed in the pond and held under.

yd1010 has accused each post of being a bot, but yd1010 has repeated the same thing over and over...wondering exactly who is the bot.

for someone who says he/she (yd1010) is not going to write any more comments, he/she sure does seem to comment a lot and is very impressed with what they have to say. I've just passed by them since they really make very little sense and seem to be so impressed with themselves that nobody else could have an opinion by yd1010.

I stepped away in epi 5 because I couldn't stand her and he was like a wet mop. Came back and I have to wonder about my own sanity to get to epi 19. The FL is really the most obnoxious female lead I've seen in any drama. I supposed they tried to make her seem strong, all I see is an obnoxious woman who only wants things her way. Even to epi 19, she's still that way. 7 more to watch and all I can say is I'm really rooting for the 2ML & FL. The first two are a waste as far as I'm concerned.

that is making me crazy and wondering about my own self, why have I continued to watch this? You pegged it perfectly when you said he's like a puppy. I don't know any man who would put himself through what he has with her. They would have said "enough" and walked away.

On epi 19 and can't believe I've actually watched it this far. The FL is the most irritating woman. I suppose they thought they were writing her as a strong woman, all I see is a selfish witch who wants things her way. The ML is so weak it's unbelievable. He lets her walk all over him and he still comes scurrying back to let her do it some more. First place, she gets so angry when the childhood friend (who is equally as obnoxious in her own way, that baby voice she uses sets my teeth on edge), while she continues to let her ex hang around and the ML is supposed to be perfectly fine with that. If the ML had any balls, he would have walked away early on, but then the show would have been over in the 2nd epi. The 2ML & 2FL are the two that I continue watching for. They are cute and funny and I'm rooting for them. The 2FL gave the FL some good advice about the ex hanging around, but does she listen, nope, that would make to much sense. She talks about drawing clear boundaries with her ex, but instead of the writers writing a scene where she tells him flat out that she doesn't want to owe him favors or be with him, she continues to let her mother try to bring them together and lets him continue to come around. The writers did a terrible job IMO. At this point I have 7 more epi to watch and won't give up, hoping that in those 7 things turn around and she's not such a witch as the end comes. As for the rest of the crew, they are pretty funny, don't know if I would expect any of them, except one of the women, to actually rescue me, but they are entertaining. Then of course we have the mother, equally as obnoxious. She's determined her daughter is going to get married, it really doesn't matter who it is, but it has to be NOW, and of course she has to approve because it's only important that she's satisfied with the man.

Thanks. I'm big on spoilers so even if you told me, I would be happy. I decided to stop watching for a couple weeks so that I can watch it in two days. I'm so thankful to be retired, LOL.

I hate watching episodic tv, I want to binge them all at once. Just realized this was one of those and there is only 10 epi posted on Viki so far. I'm on epi 5 and could finish off to 10 by the end of today. I'm going to have to wait until they are all posted to finally finish this off. So disappointing.

Watching this version for the first time. I already watched the Chinese version and although I really liked it, I don't think I cared for the ML and FL in that one like I do in this version. I'm at epi 12, the heartbreaking part. I don't remember what happened with Anna in the Chinese version but I really hate her and want something terrible to happen to her, I doubt it will but I can hope. I definitely think this is the better version of the two.

I'm watching this version now after seeing the Chinese version. Could you please tell me if I'm going to be heartbroken by this one, does she lose the baby? Thanks. Nevermind, I'm on epi 12 and the baby is gone, I'm heartbroken. This is so sad.

Wow, Thank you so much. You really went to a lot of work to put this list together. I really appreciate it. I have some of these on my list already but the majority I'll have to add. I have Viki, iQIYI, Netflix, Prime, Hulu and Tubi, which all have some shows on them. I just got iQIYI so I could see the Johnny Huang firefighter movie, then dropped it back to just be able to see the free shows. I've seen both K2 and Healer, which I loved also saw Descendants of the Sun twice already. I've also watched Love Like the Galaxy, another one that I'll watch more. I really love Zhoa Lu Si so I've watched a lot of her costume dramas and I especially loved her drama Dating in the Kitchen, Just started with The Legend of the Blue Sea. I sort of go back and forth between cdrama and kdrama. Have seen on jdrama that I absolutely loved My Happy Marriage. Have seen Coffee Prince, another one I loved and the very first Asian drama I watched was Loving, Never Forgetting with Jerry Yan...I think that's an older one, but that got me hooked. I've watched a couple of his that were pretty good. I never thought of following the screen writers, but what a great idea. I keep a list of what I've watched and what I want to watch, I probably have over a 1000 now, LOL. I look at it and wonder if the list will ever end, but I don't think so, LOL. I have My Father Is Strange on my list. Honestly I'm so new at all of these that I like just about anything now. It's going to take me a while to weed out the types I like and don't like. Thanks.

Thank you, yes I have seen K2 and loved it. Any recommendation you can give me is greatly appreciated. I've become addicted to these, my son says I need an intervention, LOL.

When do they finally get together? Doe this have a happy ending and is there anyone he can trust, on epi 8and doesn't look like family or doctors can be trusted

I'm relatively new at these wonderful kdramas, so I read thru all the posts in here and so many of them were saying "don't bother". Well, I'm glad I'm stubborn and like my mom said, I don't listen. I'm on the last epi and I'm so glad I watched the whole thing. I love the two main characters. I love how she comes back in time by a year and decides to change her life and take revenge on them for the way they had treated her. Until the 16th you don't really learn why he's so willing to help her through all this. So many people said that it was like some old soap or old Korean tv. Well, since I've only been watching them for 6 months or so, I don't know what the old shows are like. This one, to me, has so many twists and turns, you know who the bad guys and gals are, but new bad things just keep popping up. Again, I'm so glad I watched the whole thing.

as far as I'm concerned you can't go wrong with a Johnny Huang drama. Love everything about him.
