Yu Shuxin I saw in "My Journey to You " is very different from Yue Qi in "Sword and Fairy ". That's how versatile she is as an actress. Yueqi is a cute and naive character, it might seem easy to play but if you can't do it properly, it can backfire. Yu Shuxin did yueqi character justice with the right amount of cute and naive and smart . Even her dubbing did justice to original game character. And Xukai also is very suitable for yue jinzhao and played his 2 characters well . The supporting actors aren't left behind and doing theirs job well. The plot is also going steady and interesting. The production and OST are also so good. Personally I love everything about this drama. It's a MUST WATCH for xianxia lovers.

This drama was written for supporting casts . They used Yu Shuxin and ZhangLinghe to be stepping stones for others But They still shine thanks to them. You said "notably Cheng Lei, Lu Yuxiao and Tian Jiarui, to really shine without taking away that much from Yu Shuxin and Zhang Linghe." This is so wrong. They took a lot from them. For example, during Esther Yu 's spectacular fight scene , GJM added the stupid eating scene of this trio in the middle . That eating scene actually contributed nothing to the plot. Personally I like to watch Fight scenes. So this irritated me so much . Most of the time, these 3 are talking bickering nonsense which doesn't contribute anything to the plot , taking unnecessary screen time which should have been focused on main Leads storyline. And not only them, there are many unnecessary scenes and the plot has a lot of loopholes. GJM sucks so bad. The Main leads deserved better. But still they weren't overshadowed by supporting casts. But I still think this drama is a set up to Esther yu and ZhangLinghe since the beginning. The director and production team intention was clear, to use them to promote others. Hope there will never be season 2 .

Why are you comparing the different characters? Jing Tian Character in LOZH is very different from YSX Character in MJTY. Many of us like EstherYu acting and her dramas. It's very interesting. If she's not for you, don't watch it.

The good thing about this drama is nobody knows the ending since it's original screenplay. The novel is updated together with new episodes of dramas. It's good to guess what will happen next
Can't wait for more episodes. This drama is too awesome. Wuxia, suspense, thriller, romance and more . It has everything. I like how the FL is powerful and strong character. Esther Yu's acting improved so much and she killed her role , She even did Stunts personally. And I love ML, 2nd FL and all the other characters too. They all did great job. It's hard not to like all the characters in this drama. Hope the director will keep up the good work till the end.
