i'll miss this series.
watched the finale with my friend, again, and we were both joking and laughing throughout bcs we kept saying stupid shit even though like every 10 minutes she was on the verge of crying lmao.
nour is such an amazing series with such an intriguing story and characters. the pacing is really great and the chemistry between each pairing is truly beautiful.
jamesken are so beautifully tragic in so many ways. i know a lot of people feel like ken decided too suddenly to stay alive but it wasn't unusual or unexpected nor was it something rushed or non-sensical for someone like him, it made so much sense as it lingered in his brain for so long and he kept thinking about it every time he saw james. james gave him a reason beyond being a nour to understand what it is to be a person and to live his life beyond just survival but for happiness and joy. boss and tongtong were so incredible and i cannot keep reiterating how amazing they were without just repeating myself. that last scene between them was just so gorgeous.
dr. ji and chita, mayhaps the most tragic out of all and definitely. at the end of the day, all they wanted was to be together and happily but i do have to say, it truly was their only way to remain together, that sequence of videos of them, dr. ji saying he wanted to continue dreaming and that everything with chita in it will always be good, gosh, they're just truly so tragic. there was no other way around it for them, dr. ji would've died, chita would've suffered even more if he hadn't turned him. then came the suffering from being nours and then for once, the silence of just them.
nin and rain were so adorable and equally as sad throughout the series, there's just something about knowing you love somebody who means so much to you the point where you worry that dating them would jeopardise your bond afterwards and then there's something about knowing full-well that worrying about the future or doing something for the reason to separate is just meaningless because yes, struggle comes but love still brings safety and joy.
at its core, i do feel like the series speaks so well of different types of love and what those types of love would do for one another. there's sacrifical love, intense love, betrayal yet love just never ends and love always defeats vengeance and pain.
i did dock half a star because i will always stand by no need to use AI, they didn't use it like other series but still, i would much rather prefer they didn't.
eitherway, the series was so interesting and so well-made, yes, it definitely has its flaws and imperfections, questions left unanswered, confusions around the ending, maybe rushed ending etc. but at the end of the day, it's definitely worth a check out - whether you like it or don't is also completely fine, at the end of the day, each series is made for people to enjoy or not, those who enjoy it can enjoy it and those who can't at least gave something different a try.
"actually, i think i've seen a rainbow up close before. really close. so close that it was right in front of my face."
