I don't pay much attention to the fandom and bst stuff but I loved this show so much I ventured out of the comment sections here and notice a disturbing amount of shipping the actors in the main lead.

If this is prevalent, I can see why, in addition to censorship, some of these actors are on guard in romantic scenes. All the frozen into place / fish out of water kisses make sense now. Who would want to give these fanatics fodder

That said, I am glad these two put their fears aside and immersed themselves into their characters.

This is a great review and even though it was the intent, I don't think the show and the book captured it as well as you did. It could have been depicted better. It would have given the whole production(book & drama) more depth.
