On Love Track: More than Stars Dec 27, 2025
Honestly, the best episode so far 🔥 I really wish it had been longer because there were so many genuinely funny moments — especially right from the start when they’re taking photos of rubbish, thinking it’s part of an exhibition 😂.

The two leads were great together and had excellent chemistry, which really elevated the episode. This absolutely could have worked as a full or even mini series and, honestly, it’s better than a lot of the rubbish being put out these days 📺✨

The moment in Episode 1 when I realized this director also directed "One Dollar Lawyer" was the moment…
You’ve genuinely taken the words right out of my mouth — that’s exactly it, and you articulated it perfectly 👌✨

The moment you mentioned realizing it’s the same director as One Dollar Lawyer, I was like “yep… switch brain off and enjoy the ride” 😂🫶 The tropes are really stuffed in on purpose, and I kind of love how shamelessly it leans into that unserious romcom flow 💕
And I’m with you on the fire/back-carry + making out in the grass with not a speck of soot — totally unrealistic, but it’s such a corny, tropey romantic moment that I just went with it 🫠💘 Your My Dearest comparison is so on point too — the tall grass/barley-field vibe, the framing, the clutch and kiss… it genuinely feels like a deliberate nod 👀✨

Also… has anyone else noticed there are so many My Dearest cast members in this show? 😭😍
• SML = Crown Prince So Hyeon in My Dearest
• Lee Go Eun (the girl the 2ML’s BF likes) = Jong Jong Yi (Gil Chae’s maid) in My Dearest
• Obviously Ahn Eun Jin = Gil Chae 🥹🌸
• And then the main man himself — One Dollar Lawyer’s Namkoong Min, aka My Dearest legend 😮‍💨🔥

I thought everyone might appreciate this tiny little detail I learned about from a user on Twitter! 🧐✨

In the hotel scene at 13:53, where he said:
“You haven’t settled down from the shock yet. You know you’ll be very tense down there. Don’t overdo it, just do as I say.”

He was actually feeling her pulse while saying it! 💓👏

Such a subtle yet thoughtful moment—did anyone else notice this?

🎬 Thoughts After 4/12 Episodes: First Impressions 🎭

I must admit, I didn’t have high expectations for this drama 🤔 and was even tempted to skip it. The genres—Thriller, Mystery, Romance, Drama—didn’t grab me initially. 🤷‍♂️ And honestly (I can’t believe I’m saying this 😅), I wasn’t the biggest fan of either lead before this.

BUT WOW... this drama has completely changed my opinion! 😍 Both leads fit their roles perfectly, and their performances have really won me over. 👏👏 The cinematography, music, and OST? Absolutely stunning! 🎶✨

Yes, if you really dig, you can find plot issues and faults (as with any drama, tbh). But this isn’t one to nitpick over. Dramas are all about escapism, and this one, based on a novel 📖, does a fantastic job pulling you into its world.

At just 4 episodes in, I’m already hooked! 🥰 If they can keep this momentum going, this could easily turn into a standout drama. Fingers crossed! 🤞

That's cheating on her husband. LOL
Haha, there's no point in trying to reason with the illogical and irrational folks. Sometimes it's best to let them have their opinions, even if they are in the minority. 😄

You are completely misinformed and evidently incapable of grasping the plot. I won't waste any more time on individuals who cannot comprehend the storyline and its nuances.

Title My Dearest Part 2 Spoiler
That's cheating on her husband. LOL
Regarding your question, "I don't understand how people justify this by 'he abandoned her.' He is still looking for her.

I'm not sure if you are following the story and paying attention to what’s happening.

In Part 2, Episode 3, at the timestamp 40:50, he encounters a prison guard and shows him a portrait while inquiring about her whereabouts. Then, at the timestamp 44:00, the prison guard reveals, "I already sold her. Do you want to know who I sold her to? By now, she is probably exhausted after everything with that man."

To clarify, he had the opportunity to continue searching for his wife even after the prison guard told him, "Do you want to know who I sold her to?" He abandoned her, knowing the risks she faced, including the possibility of terrible things like rape. So, in your eyes, is this ethical behavior, knowing the potential harm she could endure and still abandoning her?

Furthermore, if you've watched the show, you'd understand that Yoo Gil Chae's character is quite different from women of that time. She defies the traditional norms, where chastity was paramount for Joseon women, often leading to taking their own lives when taken prisoner. Yoo Gil Chae represents the kind of individuals who could have played a role in changing historical norms over time. Sticking rigidly to traditional principles would have prevented progress and societal evolution.

The reason why most viewers find it acceptable for her to continue her love story with Lee Jang Hyun is because he saved her by risking his life, and Gil Chae now knows that her husband has abandoned her, so in everyone's eyes, the marriage is over.

In Part 2, Episode 3, at the timestamp 58:50, the prison guard reveals more: "Your husband was here to find you. An officer came with your portrait." Gil Chae inquires if her husband truly came, and the prison guard responds, "But he went back. He heard that you had been sold to another man and gave up on you. That's what I mean."

Before you dismiss the possibility of the prison guard lying, consider the likelihood of him knowing her husband was an officer. Additionally, portraits were uncommon and costly at the time. Captives were typically from the lower class, but she, being a noblewoman, had a portrait. After spending time in that prison, she likely had some knowledge of what was happening with her family members and others who were searching for their loved ones in prison.

And you believe Gil Chae should return to her husband after all these events

Didn’t they say two years later at the end of episode 10 in part 1? After he reads the letter
@Tom2001 thanks for clarifying

Absolutely, I should've been clearer in my initial query. How long have they known each other up to the most recent episode 12? @Tom2001, is it 6 or 8 years?

Thanks for clarifying that for me. A six-year time-frame does seem plausible. Appreciate it!

Does any one know what’s the time skip between part 1 and part 2 ep 1?
Great question – it's got me pondering! 🤔 All I know is they first met in the spring of 1636, during the 14th year of Injo's reign. I'm curious to find out how many years they've known each other up to this point.

You know how previews can sometimes be misleading. My theory? I believe they first meet on the street, evident from the emotional reunion where they're both teary-eyed . However, since she's a prisoner, he can't simply take her away then and there. I suspect he returns a second time, paying the necessary amount of Nyang to secure her release from prison.
