*About the actresses parents being forgotten after they were rescued. I think it's quite understandable to not show them as often because they was a real villain they actually had to defeat. I would have been irritated if the imoogi was on the loose but they still had time to show her being loving with her parents. At one point she even talked about how she didn't want to be around them in order to keep them safe . They actually did a good job in showing how her parents had to adjust to the 21st century. But I think it would have been better if they showed her explaining to her parents about what happened with Lee Yeon and also them keeping her company while she grieves. *Her character changing is kind of understable because you can't expect her as a human to standoff against magical creatures who can kill her at any moment and she would still be fearless, that would be more ridiculous. I was even more annoyed in the beginning when she jumped off the building and expected Lee Yeon ti save her. That is just a wild expectation. Like why did she think he would save her. He doesn't come off as someone who cares that much about humans and I know he probably saved her cause she looked like his past live but she didn't know that at that point. Her fainting did seem a bit random and cliche but it was understandable because a power greater then her was literally trying to take over her body so that must have been emotionally and physically draining. I sincerely preferred her own portrayal of the imoogi for the most part. Even though it wasn't that scary, I still like how mischievous she seemed and how she always had a sly smirk. *They actually gave a good explanation as to where they were. They were trapped in the ground cherries and that caused them to in a coma like state but time moves differently there so to them it felt like a short period of time . Honestly I think the greater question should be why did they want to kill Ji-Ah because the grandma once said that she was the real target and her parents risked themselves for her. And that seems like a stupid statement given the fact that the victim was supposed to die so why would the imoogi want her dead when he knew that his other half was in her. And why did they send those shapeshiftters to impersonate her parents. We could say that the imoogi has a lot of people doing his bidding and working for him but it seems stupid to allow shapeshiffrers have access to her because what if she got hurt wouldn't that ruin his plan. This part if the plot is really a hot mess * The issue about her parents visiting the island was never really addressed properly, but they once said something about how she was the one who lead her mother there . So my guess is that the imoogi in her lead them all there. But why? *Actually even though I hate sad endings, I would've also been fine with Lee Yeon dying because everyone was gradually accepting it and moving on why did they have to let is brother be a sacrificial lamb. The most they could have done was get the afterlife judges give him the chance to be reborn and they meet in another life. *All the reincarnation scenes where honestly ridiculous *I think I understand what they were trying to do in the end. So he basically now has the lifespan of a human and all our bodily function like illinesses but he still works for the people on the other side and still has some of his powers to help in that. Because if he didn't he wouldn't have been able to enter that afterlife office where the grandma is. Humans can't enter except a non-human brings them in or people on the inside open the door for them because someone like Ji-Ah could never enter on her own. *Lee Yeon was a very shitty elder brother. He abandoned his brother for a woman and never thought to put him under the guidance of someone who could protect him after he left. Even know he never thought to apologize and always kept saying he didn't abandon him. Even when he was in the land of the starved the only reason he rescued him was because he knew he couldn't get direct access to Ji-Ah and by saving his younger brother he could also save her. When he found out that imoogi wanted to hurt but NJA and LR he only thought about protecting NJA and still called his brother to ask about the ground cherries so he could save her parents. *At a point this series actually felt like you're to watch cause it be was so draggy. I just wanted it to end so I could move on with my life.
I think Mok Sol-Hee's lie detectors differentiates a lie and a truth based on what that person's subconscious thinks. Cause I feel like even though Do ha knows logically that he didn't kill his ex, his subconscious thinks he did. That is why initially when they interviewed him after her death he said he killed her then later on when he was more clearheaded he changed his story and said he didn't.
