Rare times when the adaptation was better than original.
I tuned in to this series knowing all about the plot, story, the characters and their tendencies based on the original. Needless to say, I had very high expectations heading into this. But you know what, this drama gave everything I wished the original had changed. Although it was an adaptation, it felt like I was watching an original series, a freshly made one.Was this review helpful to you?

A Good Mix of Romance and Drama
I would not keep this review long. Imagine Sang Yan going to Yihe frequently just to see her. That's the true meaning of "If he wants to, he would". His love did not end after they ended their communication. I also love how Sang Yan waited for her all these years even though he was hurt that she left. He yearned for her for so many years, and when she finally said the reason for her departure, I love how Sang Yan tried to console her and fight for her to give her justice. Overall, this is such a good series to watch and I can definitely see myself watching it over again.Was this review helpful to you?

Parental Love is the Greatest Love
Just when you thought your life has been hard, always remember that your parents had face much more worst than what you can imagine. That was one lesson I've picked up from When Life Gives You Tangerine.This drama highlights unconditional love that parents have towards their children. It depicts what a mother and a father can give in order to provide the best kind of life for them.
Moreover, this also proves that marriage is not scary if you marry someone like Gwansik. Someone who is ever willing to give up everything, his life, enjoyment, what he wants just to help Aesun out.
Overall this drama is such a great tribute to the greatest persons of our lives, our loving parents. A way to remind us of their sacrifices and what they have went through. Love your parents always.

Delivered what's expected
I started watching without minding what the rating says. i usually skip series with low ratings but I made an exception for this one since I want to watch more series that has chimon on the cast. Watching this was fun, I was never bored in any of the episodes. But it's quite predictable like most series, and it doesn't make the series any less. Gave this one a high rating cause it's hard to find bl series that satisfies me. The acting can still be improved but I must say, they did good but still far from perfect. The color grading and cinematic feels so calm while watching. I like the ost as well.Was this review helpful to you?

A well-plotted revenge by a Smart Woman.
Honestly, I genuinely don't enjoy costume dramas. I tried watching some before but only few can make me continue until the end, and this is one of them.First, the drama casted the right people. It felt like all the characters where just so natural with their acting. Second, the female lead has such a strong will power. She's always one step ahead of her enemies and won't let them trample her down given that she's living another person's life. And thank goodness she's smart enough to dodge the multiple attempts of making her life miserable cos I hate it when dramas overly torture the main leads.
And lastly, more than the romance theme of this drama, I liked the politics aspect of it. I liked that they focused more on establishing political topics rather than making a romance out of the female lead and duke su right of the bat. They took their time, and gave more focus on the political landscape of Great Yan.
Overall, this has been a really great watch. No boring episodes, just full of thrill and suspense, which I am not complaining.
