I personally think that the incompetences of the FL is to show that cops do lots of mistakes. The professor also study her profile before and just want to talk to her..notice that he keep his eyes on her moves. he is targetting her to be used for the plan.KMC also seemed to be using her

I agree that most of the time in thrillers they make the FL passionate and hardworking but won't make her sensible…
The FL character also can be used to show that the polices do lots of mistakes also in their job as no one is perfect..thats why gaetal exist and bad people getting away..in korean media..there are lots of cases caused by the incompetencies of the cops
