I managed to finish this drama after abandoning it for months. It's difficult for me to finish shows having 20+ episodes with each episode more than 1 hour long. That's one thing. But the main reason I had to put it on hold is that the story dragged in the middle. A lot of side roles and side stories. I liked and stayed for: -Baek seok's character and how he bonded with Hae kang and helped her find her true self. He's selfless and a good confidant. Too bad he got stuck in a friend zone. He deserves better. -Hae kang's redemption arc and in other words Choi Jinon's long awaited karma. -The drama between Choi Jinon and his father. It added depth to his character. -The camaraderie between Choi Jinon and Hyunwoo. -The evil brother in law Tae seok's character. The actor did a really good job portraying the character. -Choi Jinon's family dynamics. His entire family is malice. I liked how Baek seok called him off for not protecting his wife from his evil family. He never really cared until he lost her. I rate it 7.5/10 for a good ending.
Wait.... does that mean the teachers' argument scene struck a nerve? But they want to mask it. Then it must be a serious issue in their education system. That scene was indeed uncomfortable to watch. The show is brave for shining light to this controversial matter.
I just picked up this series. The plot setting, direction, acting and characters are intriguing. It looks like I'm going to enjoy watching this one 😌.
This show is like a breeze of fresh air. I couldn't find anything decent to watch recently. Every other drama felt flat and nothing new until I find WLIS. Not to mention, the cinematography and acting by all the characters, not just the mains, is splendid.
I also just started the show and have watched 4 episodes as well. Li Xun's character irks me too but I'm curious…
Very true. He's like a guide to Zhu Yun. He sees the potential in her and tries to uncover her strengths. Zhu Yun admires Li Xun as she can learn so much about the world and herself beside him. They are both so young but mentally strong and their relationship is not superficial. It's meaningful.

Thanks for offering to suggest me Chinese dramas. As you have seen, I have added a few Cdramas on my list but I still feel I might miss the best ones out there cause I'm very new to Chinese shows. So I keep my eye out for the good and new ones. I'm watching Lighter and Princess and on ep 11. What you said about Li Xun is true. I've come to like his character more and more as they start to reveal info about his background. The thing is, he acts arrogant but it's just one side of his character. There are many positive aspects of him that are slowly coming to light as the story progress. Moreover, I like how they show the students face some real problems in university and try to figure a way out. The story has some strong plot points along with equally talented side characters adding depth to the show. L&P is slowly becoming my favorite since the story finally picked up pace from ep 9 onwards.

I'm only familiar with K-dramas. Recently, C dramas have gained significant popularity and always come up on my YouTube. I decided to check them out as they seemed interesting. I also want to watch Japanese shows. I'm watching one Netflix show 'First love'. It's slow-paced but good. About the hit or miss thing you mentioned, it happens. Sometimes I find it hard to carry on with a show when it doesn't sit right with me even if it's viral. I saved a few Chinese shows on my PTW list but I want more so I'll check your list. Thanks!
Only on episode 3, and the show looks interesting. However, the male lead is an arrogant, self-righteous piece…
I also just started the show and have watched 4 episodes as well. Li Xun's character irks me too but I'm curious to know why he behaves like this and what got him behind bars plus I like the class dynamics the students have together and the overall vibe of the show. So I'm going to give this one a chance as my first C drama.
I enjoyed first ep mainly because of Ahn Bo Hyun, as his character was the only one that stood out to me. Ahn Bo Hyun as Jin Isoo is quirky but it feels there's another side of him which is yet to be revealed. In my opinion, his acting here improved a lot compared to his previous role in 'See You In My 19th Life'. P.S, the scene where he was getting ready for the kidnapping play reminded me of Batman. For a second there I thought: 'He wouldn't look bad as Batman'. 😌
Nice little makjang to watch for some spicy family politics and drama. Just don't forget it feels like a fairytale disguised as kdrama. Last episode is such a 'princess in distress meets prince charming and they live happily ever after' moment. It's a 7.5/10 for me :).
I watched 4 episodes and there are some issues with the way the story flows in the drama. I am not sure if it…
Agree. Some scenes only make good sense if you know beforehand what's coming, for example in case of manhua readers. The story in the manhua is already complex but they changed some things up and it becomes confusing.
