Title A Dream within a Dream Spoiler
I’m at ep 23 midway and I’m trying to be veryyy patient especially with the FL 😭…I read some ppl are…
The way I understood it is that he attempted killing her multiple times (was comedic but I counted at least 9-10 times) and she attempted maybe twice and both times he was in on the plan (more like he plotted the attempts himself). She went running to Li Shilu the moment she got it in her mind to kill NH. Other times she wanted to just stay far away from him if that meant using cruel and ruthless words to drive him away then so be it.

Another reason I could understand her was because if you just focus on her moments with NH, our guy is really not doing anything to help his case with her either (ignoring facts like him taking on punishment for her dad etc cause she is not told about those moments, still mad about this). He is constantly playing into his role as the 'ruthless' 7th prince by manipulating her (to cancel her engagement/find the forging method) and threatening the ppl around her (maids/family/LS and on top of providing 'evidence' he is capable of it (li Shilu's mechanical arm covered in blood) and then with the mask on telling her NH did hurt him but it's okay because he is strong enough to endure it.

Honestly, I understand both of them. The situation is just out of control most of the times. Her wanting to stay alive and keep ppl around her safe cause no matter the changes to circumstances core scenes and characters within scenes remained the same so her death is thus far set in stone. Other times I was just shaking my head because poor guy was just misunderstood by the ppl who should know him best.

For NH, he blurred the lines between his 2 identities first and can't understand why her behavior is such night and day with him when at core he is the same person. Only problem is that his 1 identity is submerged in misunderstandings and he has given up on clearing them most of the time. Understandable too when your own family/friend is your enemy (the emperor and CGH were the 2 who really boiled my blood with their 'truths').

Honestly the show is amazing in its parallels I noticed that comparing to the original script we see him taking on the role of the FL (always hurt and enduring) while SYM took on ML (cruel with words and actions). Like him falling first in Ep 10 like og SYM did in og script ep 10 etc. 😁
