Seems like another baseless rumor, just like all the others. Spirealm appearing was due ''mistake'', there's no single drama that airs all episodes all together, also it had 78 episode and max is 40 allowed. I don't know why they leaked it, thou, maybe they were testing waters. I don't think the ban was ever lifted. JiD was removed due to license issue, but I sure everybody thinks that's an excuse. They just don't want dangai to be aired at all. I think since fanbase is very active still, studios can afford to wait.

C dramas aren't legally allowed to show BL. So it's very different. Also danmei novels usually have epic stories and romance is just a part of it. Censoring it makes sense. While korean BL manhwas and novels usually only about romance. If you remove it from the story there's really nothing else worth watching.

Well that basically means there's no BL in it. Small amounts at the beginning and the end. Main characters is even in love with each other.
That definitely doesn't make it BL manhwa.
So people were crying for nothing...

If the author is supportive, i believe not much was changed. Any case there're many scenes in BTS which i was surprised were even shot, like wedding or bath.
Maybe they'll give international audiences uncencored version?
If they'll release this and Mo Du I'll die happy!

For me this isn't even about BL or BG. Its about being faithful to original novel cause it has an amazing plot.
This is how I imagined they will cencor it. Push a lot more MR feelings towards SM, pushing a lot more SM feelings towards CW. Reducing CW and MR relationship as respectful M D one. I know for sure, people who read script discussed this in douban, they actually added a lot more to SM and CW relationship. SM feels jealous over him all the time and not because of MR.
So basically theres fake love MR has for SM, unrequited love of SM for CW and master discipline relationship of CW and MR. I dont believe they're able to do more than that, yet alone love triangle with SM on center, by just reediting. You NEED to reshoot in order to change more than that.
They did this with guardian by pushing ZH love for ZYL. Most scenes of them in the second part never were in the novel, and they did expend them in order to make it look more like BG. Yet they never made them end goal. Maybe they also will give HYX the same ending as They gave to Guardian... which will be pretty sad but won't destroy their CP.

None of this makes any sense... if they planned to release on feb 2, then why upload 78 episodes? Its literally illegal. And why make them 20min long? I heard there was new regulations for dangai that they can be no more than 20min long. Then still why 78 episodes? It seems to me like genuine mistake...

I know people are sad this went down so fast. But I'm actually happy they managed to release all episodes.

I agree! But this rumours had been around for years, the last time douban discussed it was last year. But they actually discussed the gender change of CW or MR which is more possible. The most they can do here is add some random character for an episode and made her MR love interest in the end. Which will ruin the whole thing. Still doing it with only reediting is obsolutely impossible and that's why I think this article is just BS.

I never accused you of spreading basless rumours, since everyone is doing that in internet and theres nothing wrong with it unless it hurms someones reputation. And that article isnt even written by you, why are you so offended?
As of the book, if you have read it, thats even worse, since what youre talking about doesnt make sense. Shi Mei is Mo Ran s false love interest half of the book, and he's in love with CW, that was the reason they changed the gender. If theyre going to make them the end game they had to completely rewrite and reshoot. Since the whole plot of Mo Ran becaming a villain wouldnt make sense. CW and MR relationship wouldnt make sense, just like majority of plot.
If you have read the plot and know that than youre just unaware how movies are made if you think they can change that much with only editing.
Also im sure rumour site that's running for years ALWAYS writes legitate articles!!! They're probably Tencents CEO grandchildren:)

Also dont forget that because of that rumour drama opened with 4.2 rating in Douban. If the rumour turned out to be true it will probably stay with that rating. Yet mdzs love story isnt as tied to the plot as erhas. Adding it will completely change the plot.

You accuse people of not reading the article, but have read the book? Shi Mei IS Mo Rans love interest. They changed the gender so they could be close to book. Mo Ran is in love with him half of the book.
Theres no need to edit anything. But if youre saying they will make her his true love, than that will require them to completely change the plot, which is impossible to do without rewriting and reshooting most of the material.
Also Shi Mei in the book and drama is in love with Chu Wanning. She/he hates Mo Ran.
So yeah you dont know anything yet arguing with people here.
Also what does knowing Mandarin had to do with being legitimate source? Its like saying if i know English and live in US than any rumour i say about upcoming Hollywood movies had to be true...

100%. If you're gonna change main story line you need to rewrite and reshoot more than half of the material... and add new cast members. And how exactly that happened without anyone noticing? Also producers aren't dumb, they know everyone will hate that drama, they'll produce biggest flop of the year.
Most they can do is cut as many scenes as possible of two MLs.
Also, do people think China banned dramas without female leads and romance? Many dramas had strong bromances, and only MLs, like MLC or Under the Skin. The reason why this show can't air is because it's based on danmei, which is something you can't change...

I think because they aren't oriented to BL lovers. They are mainstream in China. Untamed is one of the most watched cdramas there. It made its MLs to traffic stars in weeks. WOH was also huge. These dramas popularity internationally is tiny compare to China. So It's a waste economically to not release them in China. I think they're just waiting for the right time.
