i'd take it with a pinch of salt, the make-up artist is probably lowkey cosplaying it. in 98 & 99 that hairstyle was definitely very popular on grad parties and whatever where i was. yeah there's a bit of a blur between caret and french bob. but i saw a lot of goth girls with the bob well before Amelie came out.
