Watching Dr X season 1 and its entertaining but also a bit old school type (understandable as it was released in 2011) so I hope Korean version can improve it and make it better but at the same time keep the core of charismatic, rockstar Doctor Michiko and her dynamics with the rest. They are changing the uncle to aunt, and now that Im watching it, I agree that having KJW and LJE aunt/mentor - mentee dynamics will be better than keeping this as a male/uncle.

There is also the anesthesiologist and the junior male doctor that follows Dr X around. The character is sort of a mix of Aera’s little’s torai & Hong Hein’s sass & non chalant, add it with a rock star confidence so Im looking forward on how Kim Jiwon can craft this new character as this can be challenging on how this is slightly identical to her old iconic characters.

To be fair she was 24 yrs old in Descendants of the Sun, and the rest of the leads and sub leads are on their 30s but a lot fell in love with her in DOTS as she breakthrough & earned 13 cfs.

Did you watch her in Arthadal? How about in My Liberation Notes that earned her a Baeksang nomination? Oh how about her short but impactful cameo in Mr Sunshine? And lastly her Queen of Tears performance that made her a bonafine top actress last year?

I am watching Dr X right now and I get the charm of Daimon, she’s cool and a genius doctor but dont speak as if it requires a superb acting skills. To be honest, Jiwon just have done the crazy Aera and sassy Hong Haein so this character will not be too difficult for her. And the most challenging part for her is how to make this different from her last iconic characters such as Aera and Haein.

she has been mentioning a lot about wanting do an action/thriller genre for her next work. So if she receives a good script with that then she will probably do this next.

Its probably hard to not have romance in the side because its a shame having her in a work without romance because she even have chemistry with a tree or rock lol

No one will believe it because most Jiwon dramas are all from star writers, and also not because of agency help but these writers have personally called her like DOTS, MLN, QOT to be casted. Do you really think she will not get movie offers even before QOT but lots of nugus do? she only had two dramas and one movie lol you are so dumb to not being able to separate the actress herself from Yiseo, well she is a Baeksang awardee so at least proper people esp in Korea knows her skills

Kim Dami who only starred for 2 movies, 2 dramas, Korea's monster rookie. Who is very meek, quiet and shy during interviews, remember her Our Beloved Summer director said during their one hour meeting she just said a word YES, and her The Witch director said that when she got casted for her first main role, she just nodded and went without much reaction but very very professional and contributes a lot in behind the scenes clips. A literal monster rookie who swept 14 awards for her movie and 1 Baeksang for her difficult role in Itaewon class - whether she irked you or not, critics recognized her acting skills.

You can hate her because of her role, but inviting her more hate just because if Yiseo, you should be ashamed of yourself as she is one of those very low profile actress who dont even update her SNS for months and very gentle and quiet during interviews.

Now her next works are from high profile directors, Great Flood and Nine Puzzle, with senior supporting actors such as Haesoo and Sukku - mind you both upcoming works she is the MAIN role. So cry haters

However, Kim Dami only have 4 works already have 18 awards, now being the MAIN protagonist of a high quality project under a high end director plus her supporting casts are seniors, keep crying.

Saw somewhere that this is a wavve original so it might be streamed there, or maybe in LG U+ which Jungha will be endorsing. I dont think disney or netflix will pick this up as it seems like a small production and the actors are not mainstream and the webtoon isnt super popular. But I’m just curious to watch Jungha in this type of dark character (even strangling himself + a good fighter) as ALL his past roles are soft. lol I wonder if he can do a straight up action like this as Bongseok only did a couple of punches in the last episode. lol

Unlike Weak Hero which has friendship and betrayal, this one seems to be just all about Ui Gyeom fighting and he got addicted to fighting the bullies as an escape from his father's abuse. You can read it here:

He fights the bullies but his character is quite dark, mentally disturbed because he is getting abused and pressured by his father, violence and fighting the bullies became his outlet so this will be very different from uri Bongseokie with puppy eyes.

I have read the first 10 eps in Kakao and this has a lot of action scenes, Ui Gyeom lost his older brother from su1c1de (?) and his father is now abusing him to get good grades like his late brother. He has his late brother's walkman and one time, because of stress he fought the bullies that accidentally destroyed the it. This awakens his violent side.

Yoongi, which will be played by Kim Do Wan keeps on following him urging him to use his innate fighting skills to fight the bullies. The ending is that the protagonists are fighting for good cause but still uses violence and power.

I was really endeared with Bongseok but Lee Jungha seems really gentle in real life and only plays a softie on his other works. I am curious if he auditioned for this and on how he will portray this as Ui Gyeom is quite a dark and mentally disturbed character who gets really violent against the juvies so it will be refreshing if he can pull this off. I can see Kim Do Wan being Yongi as in the webtoon he is charming and funny that is balancing out the darkness of Ui Gyeom.

I like the kids part though, I watched because of the senior actors as I have no idea who are the kids anyway, but I re-watch their part more (although of course the parents part are great too and I cried buckets especially with Juwon) as it gives me warmth and lightness . I see it as a great and natural depiction of friendship, acceptance, and young love the kids are lovely and pure and kind, they dont judge because of appearance, and watching what their parents get through, is rewarding as the kids grew up very well - its all worth it. Of course A listers are A listers, but to be fair, aside from Go Youn Jung who is really making waves now in Korean sites leading the brand reputation and trends, kid who plays Bongseok also gets recognition in Korean sites and tripled his followers, so lets give them credits that they have done well too, despite the pressure acting along with their seniors.

The hate comments you have for Bongseok in every chance you get in this site is very disgusting. I get it, you dont like him but dude you are killing the good vibes here as majority of the viewers adore the kind hearted pure boy as despite of “acting like a 10 year old” in some ways he literally speakda wisdom that even Heesoo follows and even shared to his dad about a friend she has that helper her remember her mom. Everybody is rooting for Bongseok while you just listed out his physical imperfections/ways shows how disgusting you might be as a person.
