Where's the ROMANCE??

This is the first time I've watched a drama that doesn't represent the title.

Yeah, the main leads have chemistry, and sure, their feelings grow over time but where are the actual romantic scenes? On a scale of 1-10, I’d give the romance a solid 7. it’s there, but just barely.

Instead of lovey-dovey moments, guess what we get? endless family drama about Lian Man’er’s relatives. and don’t even get me started on Shen Nuo’s unexplored backstory! bro had some secret political mission thing going on, but the show just hinted at it and never dug deeper. Like, hello?? that sounds way more interesting than what we actually got!

That said, the acting is legit good. Shoutout to the whole cast, especially the veterans. Zeng Shunxi is a 9/10—dude nailed the martial arts scenes, looked natural on horseback, and his expressions/voice totally sold Shen Nuo’s mysterious, sharp-witted vibe. Tian Xiwei was also perfect as Lian Man’er, her bubbly energy and those big, hopeful eyes fit the role like a glove.

Production-wise? no complaints. The cinematography’s pretty, the actors used their real voices (no awkward dubbing!), and the plot’s easy to follow. Definitely doesn’t look low-budget, and the directing’s smooth, zero cringe scenes. But uh… why is the soundtrack so forgettable?

In conclusion: worth watching? yes. Just don’t expect the title to match the story. It’s a good drama but man, that misleading name is a choice.
