I love how they portrayed FL’s father :) I have black tea and green tea so nobody can guess with one I prefer and try to bribe me with tea :) they sorta took cdrama’s cliches about scheming fox-like ministers and amplified them to hysterical level :)
Did you notice how Nan Feng agent mentioned - no more dying? It was so funny because most of LYN and LYT dramas have tragic finales with them dying. It was also hilarious now LYN made fun of himself with that beads that he carry in real life :) Also, if you carefully list all demands of his agent you’ll see how they pop up in the script after. When she says - no jumping off the cliff, he is scared, and then FL makes him jump off the cliff
They made his character a simp who was in a toxic relationship with a woman whom he loved and who was quite strange character. And he had zero chemistry with that woman
Dream of Splendor has the strongest FL. The woman is goddamn entrepreneur who survived slavery, and doesn’t…
She would be fine without him too. The realistic part of the story is that to survive as a woman in a male dominated society you have to carefully manipulate powerful men without sleeping with them. They even put Pipa player story as a contrast in there. Double had the same kind of background. This is a human history - you need men to survive, so you either sleep with them, or become like one of them, or manipulate them. And the third option is the hardest and it’s a real female power.
There is only two strong lead. ZLY and Bai Lu . all others above sucks so bad. i like jing tian acting though.…

I agree with every point. After watching 3 fully Netflix sponsored kdramas (QoT, KtL, and the Strong girl) I suspect that there is some kind of creative control Netflix exudes over Korean writers and directors that turn potentially great stories into a mess. It’s like adding kimchi to pasta bolognese. Would it work? Sure. Are they better separately? 100%. To me it felt like Netflix didn’t let QoT go full-on Makjang, and it felt weird. It was like they were trying to make 100% unbelievable story (which is my favorite part about makjang) a little bit believable.

Consuelo de Saint-Exupery has nothing to do with this story. Her book “Tale of Rose” is about her dysfunctional marriage to Antoin de Saint-Exupéry, when they were constantly cheating on each other.
What does it have to do with my review? I disliked how they emphasized the whole superhero line and didn’t develop…
I quit at five, because I realized it was a superhero story, more than a human story. And that’s what my review is about. If anyone is looking for an extra superhero universe, they might be satisfied…
Are you unfamiliar with Captain America folklore? If you don't know, it's better to remain silent. Dozens of Heroes/Villains…
What does it have to do with my review? I disliked how they emphasized the whole superhero line and didn’t develop characters depth. It’s doesn’t matter to me how the villain was created
