Speed and Love doesn’t have very believable storyline either, just saying. And it’s normal for teenager to move on to new relationship. How many of your childhood friends are you in touch with? But I agree that the whole relationship arch is he is a savior and she is a damsel in distress, and their reunification dynamics years later isn’t believable at all
This drama wouldn’t be filmed if the script was all bad. It has many things right. The young love story was built with care. But then 5 years passed and they both just picked up where they have left. No character development over the 5 years? He didn’t have any struggles in college and didn’t make new friends? Her only motivation over the five years was to wait for him? At the point of their reunification they spent what 15-20% of their lives apart (assuming they were 18 when they met, and 23-25 when they reconnected)? And their relationship were formed over a course of 1 year.
It’s not my personal tastes. Scriptwriting is a profession, and it has standards. I think scriptwriters wouldn’t take it well if you tell them that all scripts has its own viewers. This drama repeats the same emotional situation between leads over and over again. He keeps saving her, and she keeps broaden her view of the world. She couldn’t even save her own plant on her own.
I think it’s unfair to scriptwriters that worked harder and wrote better scripts. This drama has pacing problem, it’s in rinse and repeat loop where Xing Wu is a permanent protector, but emotional connection doesn’t advance. Half episodes could be condensed without nothing important lost in relationship development. Lighter and Princess have the same premise - girl changes broken boy’s life. But where LP advances and intensifies Dazzling spin its wheels
Oh dear god. I worked with China a lot, and no judgement. First of all, CCTV does fund and finances drama production, and CCTV is state owned. Second NRTA approves scripts. They stir themes towards 主旋律. This drama was broadcast on CCTV-8, so it definitely received state funding, and script was definitely reviewed and approved.
She was annoying SL at Dream of Splendor. That show was fire, not because of her though
I think she did great job at Dream of Splendor, her character was annoying by design, she made her real and relatable. I don’t remember why I dropped Belles, the start was slow

She was the third friend who played pipa. They saved her from abusive husband in the beginning, and then she became a mistress of a rich guy, and had a crush on ML.
