Wasn't charlie the main character? The one who had the most OP powers but got nerfed by a pseudo artificial rookie. I know that I shouldn't really compare the novel and series as the director can change few things. But I really liked Charlie's character, they were all his powers. He was not always acting like kicked ass puppy. He knew he had some god level powers and could actually use them for good. This is the same as season 1. The miscommunication trope was getting on my nerves. And what the heck was Alan's surgery fiasco. I t was quite unnecessary. And him not telling jeff was hypocrisy. And pete was quite dumb in this one. I thought atleast he would be the saving grace but nevermind.
