Not so good

This is the kind of Cdrama that deceives you. You expect to watch a drama full of action, with epic fights, characters deceiving each other... but what we get is 36 episodes of pure boredom. The main protagonist never seems like a general; we don’t see that side of her life. The screenwriters chose to only focus on the bland romance with the other lead, whose acting I didn’t like. I know there are different acting methods, but this cold performance he presented doesn’t appeal to me. And throughout the episodes, we see several repetitive scenes that aren’t interesting and don’t even need to be there again. The parallel plots are boring and unnecessary, just padding most of the time. In my opinion, this was the worst Cdrama I’ve watched. The script is uninspired. If they just wanted to focus on dialogue, they should have done it better because most of it feels unnecessary and doesn’t move the plot forward. By the way, at no point does the lead actress convince you that she’s a man, which is another reason for confusion. Also, scenes that should have been emotionally charged were drained of impact at inappropriate moments, or irrelevant characters appeared out of nowhere to reveal some specific secret. Even at the beginning, there’s an absurd Deus Ex Machina.

very good

This is definitely the best C-drama I’ve watched with this type of main couple. The female lead is amazing I think it’ll be hard for me to find another one as good as her. At no point do you get that feeling that the male lead takes over the action scenes.

The supporting characters were all very good of course, some stood out more than others, while some were more low-key. Throughout the story, a few slightly annoying characters show up, but thankfully they don’t take over the plot to the point of becoming unbearable. For example, Li Tong Guang [Ren Xin’s disciple] — he was definitely the most annoying and irritating.

The acting overall was really good, and there are plenty of action scenes, just the way I like it. The villains appear gradually as the story progresses. I think the only thing that could’ve been better is the number of episodes 40 felt unnecessary, and of course there are always some filler scenes.

Surprisingly, I was actually convinced by the whole 'girl dressed as a guy' thing in this one. The ending is kind of open, but I like that I don’t think it’s a bad thing. I did find the whole 'dies and comes back to life' thing in the last episodes a bit over the top and unnecessary, but overall, the result was great I really liked it.

boring

This BL is far from being my favorite one this year…

Personally, I think they chose the wrong novel to introduce a new DMD couple. Why do I say that? Simply because this story seriously lacks Boys Love. For me, the main couple had absolutely no chemistry probably because the story itself didn’t help. It honestly felt like I was watching Ari Aster’s Midsommar.

The story drags on for 12 episodes, each almost two hours long, and in my opinion, much of the series had nothing to fill that amount of time, making the BL feel slow and boring most of the time.

What I didn’t like:

Acting:

Namping: He still needs a lot of training and acting lessons to become a convincing actor. In this BL, there are about three scenes where the supposed love of his life is nearly dying, and he just keeps that blank expression — it was driving me crazy. He’s also really dull in the romantic scenes.

Keng: Didn’t impress me either, but compared to Namping, at least he tries. Especially in the romantic scenes, he acts in a more passionate way.

Tle and FirstOne: I don’t think they’re acting geniuses, but they made the show more bearable for the viewers. The main couple was just too boring, bland, and chemistry-free. I had seen a previous BL with them and liked it much more.

Episode Length:

Way too long, and several of them had nothing interesting going on to justify nearly two hours. It became dragging and tiring.

Past Lives:

We find out the protagonists are connected through past lives, but honestly, I think that plot point only made their lack of chemistry worse. It felt like they were obligated to be together in the present.

Story:

I found it very dull and slow. Scary? Not at all especially for people used to horror movies.

Characters:

Characters often act in ways that make no sense none of them felt consistent.

What I liked:

Culture:

This BL shows a bit of Thai culture — chants, traditions — and I found that part really interesting.

Production Value:

You can clearly tell there was investment in this BL.

Special Effects:

Also very well done.

Music:

I liked it too.

Ramphueng:

The actress who played the ghost definitely delivered the best performance in the series.

boring

I was expecting a different kind of story, even though I shouldn't have expected anything, especially from Gmmtv. Where are the killer vampires? The creatures of the night?
It was far from the kind of vampire story I wanted to see.
The performances were as lazy as ever.
Very bad special effects.
In the end, it's a story like any other set in a school or college. It would be much more interesting to have a relevant villain getting in the way of the protagonists, with a very boring end result..

slow burn . boring . filler

the DIRECTOR probably had a second season of this BL series in mind because in this first season absolutely nothing happened, “but the book has 100000 pages”, I've watched countless adaptations and we know that no one makes the movie or series 100% the same as the book, I don't know if this strategy of making season 1 so uninteresting will hook people for a second season, it ended as it started without any development, it went from nothing to nowhere, many people talk about fetish that people demand a kiss, but what do we expect in a heterosexual romance series? ??? the same as GLS and Bls.

I loved

This was the BL I liked the most from Thailand this year one of those rare moments when they get the casting and the actors' chemistry just right. The performances were really good. The only weak point, in my opinion, was the villain, who felt too much like a caricature. The plot follows that time-travel trope funny thing is, I usually don't like that kind of storyline, but that doesn't mean much; when the screenwriter is good, I end up enjoying and watching even stories I normally wouldn't. I thought the pacing was great not once did I find it boring. One of those rare moments when a BL series has an inspired writer.

I did not like so much

When I found out that it would be inspired by Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew, I immediately set off alarm bells. I thought, what does this story have to do with criminals and gays? The funny about this is story it's a woman who doesn't want to do what all women were supposed to do at the time: get married and have children.

Well, speaking of the story itself, another story full of holes and boring/weak plots from GMMTV. I hope they wake up this year because the competition is knocking on the door. Another thing is that they should sponsor acting classes for their actors. In several scenes I caught myself thinking I'm better than Dunk. It gets complicated, but I'm glad that's over because there were no more stories to tell. People keep discussing situations that I think have nothing to do with sex. Having or not having kissing scenes doesn't make a story better or worse. It's pure puritanism. Can someone watch two or four gays and want to be a puritan?
