okay sorry for my short research, actually did not know the origin of this scarf, (interesting to find out it actually is of palestinian origin), but it's still commnoly used by common soldiers stationed in middle east, who probably adopted it, since it is convenient (whether it is rude or not towards the culture is another debate), I've never seen it as a mark of anything bad nor is it used that way. It's even sold as a fashion accessory these days or a tactical accesorry in army hobby shops. Also, in the show it's also worn by Pasin, who is not the evil character for sure. I know it's a sensitive time, but please do not find fault in any little details, that may or may not be something else and enjoy the show for the plot.
