Title You Maniac
Maybe I have been watching You Maniac! the wrong way. Maybe I have been waiting for fireworks when this story…
?????
Why bring Mr. Fanboy into someone else’s space? This only proves that the series is so desperate for external validation that it constantly has to be compared with others. By what standards are you saying Mr. Fanboy won? Are series really a competition where there have to be winners and losers?

Can’t you appreciate a series without dragging someone else’s series into it? Honestly, this comment is the one that looks pathetic. When it comes to chemistry, that’s subjective. Personally, I think WilliamEst has better chemistry, with more emotional depth, and You maniac have better story than mr fanboy. That’s just my opinion, and everyone is entitled to theirs. But making comments like this is no longer just expressing an opinion; it’s putting others down.

Everyone saying this series has no character development, seriously, did you even watch the show properly? They talk things through and communicate instead of insulting each other, getting angry, or suddenly disappearing, and you’re saying there’s zero character development? Moth leaving Mes, becoming more confident in the career he’s chosen as a digital artist, and growing in his relationship with Dean—is that also zero character development to you?

ok i just finished ep8... a rating of 8.6 for this show is absolutely insane. there has been a total of ZERO character…
Zero character development? Seriously, are we even watching the same series? They actually talk things through and communicate instead of insulting each other and getting angry, and you’re saying there’s zero character development? Moth leaving Mes, becoming more confident in his career, and putting his trust in Dean—is that also zero character development to you?

I love how this series portrays Moth’s journey. 🥹

When Mes, the senior who had inspired him back in college, came back into his life, Moth started feeling lost again. He began questioning whether he still had feelings for Mes, but I think there’s another layer to his confusion that goes beyond romance. It can also be connected to his journey as an artist.

Back in college, Moth pursued classical and contemporary art, but now he has chosen digital art. And because so many people look down on digital art, treating it as if it isn’t *real art*, Moth is forced to question the path he has chosen.

In EP7, we see him struggling with those doubts. Mes’s words, combined with the way other artists seem to look down on his career, make Moth question whether the path he has chosen is even worth pursuing. He starts to lose confidence in himself and the work he has been doing.

But then, in EP8, Moth finally finds his confidence again. He stands his ground and snaps back at Mes, showing that he knows what he wants to do and where he wants to go. He finally lets go of Mes and the past he represents, chooses to believe in his own path, and settles his heart on Dean.

And honestly, I think that’s beautiful. 😭❤️

I genuinely don’t understand how some people can call this series trash. For me, there is so much beauty in this story, especially when you look beyond the romance.

It’s not just about choosing between two people. It’s also about choosing yourself, finding your confidence again after other people make you doubt your worth, and learning to stand by the path you’ve chosen even when others don’t understand it.

I think the series becomes truly beautiful when you’re able to see these layers of meaning, instead of looking at it as nothing more than a romantic love story.

What makes me emotional this ep is how Moth turns his longing for Dean into inspiration. Maybe that’s also why he keeps his distance from Dean, because he wants to focus on his work and let that feeling of missing Dean become the inspiration behind his drawings.

also in the novel there are some nice dialog

Mes may see my art, but Dean sees me. Dean never taught me how to draw, but he’s the one who made me draw

the price I’m selling this for is not based on the skill level, but on the longing, Please let buyers know

You Maniac EP. 7 Review

One of the things I love most about You Maniac is how it includes dialogues about the struggles we face within ourselves. To me, this series is so much more than just a love story. It also portrays how every human being has their own flaws, insecurities, and personal battles that others might not always see.

Seeing Moth, who seemed so confident in the earlier episodes, slowly lose that confidence and feel small because he left traditional art behind and is now looked down on for being a digital artist, really hits hard. It makes you realize that even someone who appears confident and sure of themselves can have moments when they question their own worth, especially when they find themselves in an environment where their passion and abilities are not appreciated.

I love how this series doesn't just focus on the romance between its characters but also explores their vulnerabilities and the struggles they have with themselves. Sometimes, the hardest battles aren't with other people but with the way we see ourselves after the world makes us feel like we're not good enough.

And that's what makes Moth's story so relatable to me

One thing I love about the when i reas You Maniac novel is that it doesn’t just tell a love story, but also shows the flaws and vulnerabilities of each character. Who would’ve thought that someone as confident as Moth could have his confidence crumble too and end up feeling insecure?

List scene i like in ep 7

- Flashback moth get rejected
One of my favorite scenes. in ep 1 and 3, we saw Moth throwing away flowers he received ,but ep 7 show us Moth had actually experienced having his flowers rejected like that by Mes too, which is also maybe why he came to dislike flowers 🥲

- Moth crying
Everyone initially thought this scene would be about Dean or Mes, but SURPRISE, Moth was actually crying over himself. Maybe he feels small or inadequate because he didn’t pursue contemporary art, even though he used to be almost just like Mes back then.

It’s like, I’m not in the art field, but somehow I can still relate to him. It’s that feeling when you used to be smart too, but suddenly you start feeling inferior and like you’re falling behind everyone else. And what hurts the most is when one of the artist seems to look down on Moth just because he does digital art.

- Scene Moth said " when i work i haven't felt anything for a long time"
I feel like that line is SO, SO relatable to everyone. When we first start looking for something to do, we usually pursue what we love. But over time, once we enter the working world, everything starts to feel like it’s just about surviving. There’s no longer any joy or love for the things that used to excite us so much.

I really loved the scene where Pio confessed that he was the mastermind behind the kidnapping, and then his mom went around desperately trying to prove that she was the one who kidnapped him, but no one believed her. That scene was truly epic.

Earlier, when she had the chance to confess, she chose not to. And eventually, her own son ended up covering for what she had done. Then, when she finally wanted to tell the truth, no one believed her. The irony of it all made that scene so powerful

I’m really disappointed with Jaein’s behavior toward Jeongyo, especially because he was also her friend just…
If I’m being honest, I feel like Jaein’s character didn’t really have any impact or influence on the story at all. It feels like she was only added so the drama wouldn’t be labeled as BL. Honestly, I don’t think it would have been a problem if Jaein had simply been Pio’s friend or manager, without forcing a love line that suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

One of the best K-dramas this year. The music score in every episode is absolutely amazing, the cast’s acting is incredible, and the storyline is so unique and far from mainstream. Pio’s mom especially deserves to win an award! I really hope this series wins an award too

I really like Episode 5 because it tries to show how people can choose and connect with each other through conversation alone, without being influenced by appearance or looks, especially with the blind date concept.

I think this episode also works really well as a continuation of Ten’s story, because they initially only got to know each other through talking online. The episode also highlights Dean’s ego again. Because he never really takes other people seriously, when it comes to finding a partner, other people don’t take him seriously either. You can see that only one person chose him. Maybe this is when Dean starts realizing that, among all these people, there is someone like Moth who is still willing to stay with him.

It started when Dean apologized and realized that Moth still wanted to continue their undefined relationship. Maybe little by little, Dean is learning what it feels like to stay with one person. And eventually, he becomes willing to try staying with just one person too.

But I also understand why some people might not click with this series. In my opinion, the series doesn’t show enough of the characters’ deeper thoughts and emotions because the series is very short. I don’t know, GMM is just not doing a great job with this 😭. You Maniac also feels way too short, only around 40 minutes, while other series can be around 50 minutes. It’s such a shame because there’s so much that could have been explored further.

But in terms of the story itself, I still think it’s really good.

Respect to Lee Junyoung, his acting was seriously WOW. Watching Jeongyo finally unleash all of his anger and resentment… damn, that was insane.

I’m not going to blame Jeongyo for feeling this much anger and resentment. Remember, he was actually a very forgiving person at the beginning of the story. Even after being disappointed by everyone close to him, he still cared about his father and Pio and kept helping them over and over again.

But the breaking point was when he was almost killed, only to find out that it was his best friend Pio—the person he had helped so many times—who was involved. How could he not hold that much resentment after everything? So, to me, his feelings have a reason behind them.

Some people keeps saying we should try to see things from Pio’s perspective because he was depressed, I feel bad for Pio because he was depressed, why jeong yo ddo that

but you also have to try to see things from Jeongyo’s side. He had nothing left, and then he was almost killed by someone he considered a close friend.

So honestly, in my opinion, this whole mess is ultimately Pio’s mom’s fault.

We’ve already seen a little glimpse of Dean’s background, so now I’m really curious about Moth. What do you guys think his backstory might be? What do you think happened in his past that made him the way he is now, especially when it comes to relationships and the way he deals with people? 👀

Title You Maniac
This story requires its viewers to have empathy and be willing to understand the reasons behind each character’s actions. From the very beginning, the series has been promoted as a story about two red-flag characters, so it’s already clear that neither of them is supposed to be a perfect or morally good person.

To me, *You Maniac* is a story that shows human beings with all their flaws. It takes us through the uglier and more selfish sides of human nature, while also exploring what shapes someone into the person they become and how people can change.

If you’re looking for a story with a completely unique concept, then maybe *You Maniac* isn’t the right one for you. But personally, I don’t find *You Maniac* predictable. There aren’t many BL series that start with two main characters who both have flaws like these. Usually, one of the leads is the “angel” while the other is the bad one, or both of them are basically good people.

So I’m honestly a little confused when people say the story is predictable. No offense, though—this is just my personal opinion.

I think both Dean and Moth are still attracted to each other mainly on a physical/sexual level at this point.

If anyone is wondering why Moth suddenly started becoming interested in Dean, I think it’s because Moth has been alone for so long, and he was basically forced to date Dean because he wanted to make Punn give up. I think Moth was already attracted to Dean from the moment they first met, maybe because he was attracted to his looks. But as they kept dating, even though they constantly bickered, Moth started experiencing what it feels like to have a partner and someone by his side. He was also experiencing what it feels like to allow himself to be liked by someone. Maybe that unfamiliar feeling is what gradually made him more attracted to Dean.

As for Dean, I think he’s attracted to Moth because Moth is challenging and not easy to win over. There might also be a bit of pride involved—Dean wants to prove that he can win Moth over and eventually sleep with him. I don’t think he has realized yet that he actually likes Moth.

That’s why whenever people ask him what he wants to do after they sleep together, he never really gives an answer. Even when Ten asks him, Dean gets angry, because deep down, he’s also conflicted about whether he genuinely has feelings for Moth or whether he’s simply chasing his own lust and desire to sleep with him.

Basically, this is how I interpret Dean as characters in Episode 4.

I think Dean and Moth are both selfish characters, perhaps shaped by things that happened to them in the past.

Dean keeps moving from one partner to another, maybe because of his past . He doesn’t want to settle down with anyone, because for him, it’s better to be the one who leaves first than to be the one who gets left behind. Maybe that’s his way of protecting himself.

But in the end, this behavior leaves him with no one who is genuinely serious about staying by his side. Dean also never really takes anyone seriously. Whenever someone starts wanting a serious relationship with him, he leaves them. That’s why he never really has anyone by his side, just like Hun said—anyone who takes Dean seriously is basically an idiot.
