This drama just keeps getting better! Ep 8 and 9 were ELITE I didn't even plan on watching and now I'm addicted! For those discussing Esther's voice, yes the first time I watched LBFAD I did think the voice was babyish and annoying, but ultimately it suits her and the character she's portraying. I got used to it and I even think it's cute now.
Urghhhh so much fun!!! I rewatched that go scene like 10 times it's so good.
Ever since the double I've been in a drama slump, nothing can please me! I tried so many dramas since August and nothing has caught on but this is great! I love ott costumes and all the main characters are looking great! Ding Yuxi is delivering a good performance, and this is Yu shuxin's prime role, best since LBFAD. Anyone else thinking the production of this drama is super high quality? The lighting, camera work and some of the cutting is really well done. Definitely deserves a higher rating, at least 8.4/8.5
NGL, I thought this one will explode like Double / In blossom but the Index/Charts ratings are so far below par,…
It's hard so say, I mean the double was just explosively popular, which is getting rarer and harder to compete with these days. The mood regarding dramas is great, there's been a lot of time wasters this year so I think people don't really have the patience. The drama would have to pull out something really really enticing to do as well as the double. I still think the drama can do better than In Blossom though.
True. I saw the OST and seems they might die both in the end. MRJ digging the grave of Mei Lin and then them wearing…
I know right! From the trailer it looks like he dressed up her dead body in a wedding dress to die together! It would be beautiful but then I need two endings like a happy ending and a sad ending 😭
Guys I rewatched the trailers more closely and the ost mv and I am so scared that we are getting a sad ending 😭 and I'm so conflicted like I'm here for the angst yes I wanna cry my eyes out but I also wanna see my cuties be happy 😭
If you happen to know, how does Li Landi speak compared to WJY? I am studying Chinese and sometimes I found her…
I'm not familiar with Li Landi and I haven't watched Love of Nirvana, but I checked out a short clip and I thought she was quite easy to understand, it can always be a mixed bag though 😂
This is probably on the extreme side but I didn't grow up in China and my mum wanted to make sure my Chinese was very good so she made me watch a loooot of 1987 Dream of Red Chamber as a child. The language is very well spoken in these, but it may even be a little over the top for these days.
read somewhere that a higher-pitched voice is usually preferred for female leads??? i'm glad they let WJY dub…
Not sure about that tbh Zhou Xun is famous for her deep and melodic voice and is considered to be one of the best. But it is true that for 'innocent' roles they prefer higher voices.
As a native Chinese speaker I am so surprised at how good Wu Jin Yan's voice is!
Probably non Chinese speakers don't really get it, but Chinese needs to be quite precise, and when someone in a Chinese drama doesn't speak in a clean crisp way its quite hard to understand and it's super irritating. I love Bai Lu but unless I read subtitles sometimes I don't understand her because she doesn't speak so clearly. (Still watch everything she makes tho lol) I always thought if Wu Jin Yan is dubbed that she must have an issue with that but her voice and enunciation is pretty good, I really like her deep voice. Funnily enough Liu Xue Yi and especially Wang Xing Yue are also pretty good at it so I had no idea why she got dubbed in the Double.
