I am literally crying. When is my man (Haknyeon) getting a male lead rolleee???? The drama was great imo (9/10)…
First time seeing Hakyeon, but he's a new favorite actor for me. Heard he's supposed to be the main lead in a movie, Midnight Sun, but I don't know when it comes out.

Sameee.I felt he had stronger chemistry with Mok Ha than Ki Ho did. Why couldn’t Ki Ho and Mok Ha just root…
Agree. The childhood part should have just been left as two friends helping each other escape abuse, felt weird how they romanticized this. Whereas Woohak and Mokha encouraging and supporting each other felt like the perfect couple.

MAJORRR SECOND LEAD SYNDROME. I'm sorry, the main lead is fine too nothing wrong with him loved him actually,…
Agreed! I came for a happy love story, but stuck around for Woohak. Seems some people interpreted him as annoying. But the poor guy got a lot of grief caused by Bogeol and Mokha. Yet he still loves them, so he can't hate them. Found this so relatable.

Mediocre drama. The plot was stolen by the story of abusive father. It felt as the story of singing took a back…
Unpopular opinion, but I agree, I liked the SML better than the ML. The FL and ML felt more liked friends who helped each other out. I don't find love triangles enjoyable at all, wish they would have kept that part out.

Person Cha Hak Yeon
Hoping to see this actor many more leading roles. He can portray a large variety of emotions very sincerely and has great comedic charm. His acting is very entertaining and brings a smile to your face. Heard he'll be starring in an upcoming movie, Midnight Sun, so looking forward to that.

My cons are similar to many of yours. The main issue I have is that I need to stop assuming what a show will be…
Yeah, seems like a lot of people got false impressions of what this was gonna be about. And like you said, at times it felt like Mok-Ha isn't even the main character.

I agree. Unlike Start Up, this time the childhood backstory actually plays out in Castaway Diva, which is nice.…
Hahaha, yeah the 180 flip in the stairway was the weirdest scene in the whole show for me. Was hard to support Bo-Geol when he hides his identity for literally half the show. Then, he just changes his mind. 🤣 Understandable why they did it like that, guess I'm just too bitter lol. 🤣 Like you said, I probably had a hard time enjoying this ML cause the writer makes him more flawed.

Nonetheless, I'm still gonna finish watching the last two episodes so Mok-Ha and Bo-Geol can get their fairytale ending, and see some closure for Woo-Hak.

All the best to ya!

Yeah, you make some good points too. I can understand your viewpoints. I think it just boils down to personal preference. If a writer must include a 2ML, I want to him to be undeserving of love or just have a light crush.

True that the writer does give the 2ML his own character arc. For Woo-Hak, he's supposed to be gaining knowledge and maturing. His family is supposedly protecting him from the father and trying to keep his cheerful personality.

However, for some reason I just couldn't bring myself to get behind that. Just felt so cruel for the family to endanger him by not making him aware of the psychopath. On top of that, Woo-Hak literally tells Bo-Geol that he believes he's Ki-Ho and is gonna do everything Ki-Ho would do. To me, it's just so cruel of the family to let him believe that.

So yeah, I don't think I'd like anything by this writer. Just my personal taste that I don't enjoy watching likeable 2MLs struggle so much. Yes, failed relationships can make us stronger, just not my cup of tea to watch it in a show. Thanks for your thoughtful comment, This was fun to share viewpoints.

Is this worth it? Not sure yet, and comment section doesn’t help much lol
Depends. If you're looking for a relaxing, light-hearted romantic comedy, this ain't it.
If you don't mind some dark themes, tsunderes, and love triangles, then go for it.

For me, I think when Bo-Geol/Kiho is a kid, he gets a lot of screen-time and interesting scenes. So the young…
I can see both sides of this. I can understand they were keeping it a secret to try and protect Woo-Hak.

But in my opinion, keeping it a secret put Woo-Hak and Mok-Ha in more danger. By keeping it a secret, they let Woo-Hak be a reporter and show his face on public tv. Like, if a psychopath was after my family, I'd like to know about it so I can keep my family hidden from them and avoid ever coming into contact with them.

But of course, this is just fiction, so I understand they were just trying to create drama lol. I agree though, I like how they finally admitted it and are actually taking safety measures now.

To people who are saying that they prefer Woohak to end up with Mokha, put your bias aside and please make sense.…
I think Mokha and Bogeol make sense as endgame. However, I think there are a few frustrations people are facing:

- Thought this was gonna be a romantic comedy, (which I enjoy way more). All my favorite comedic moments are with the FL & SML. Whereas, for plot reasons ML has to be more serious.
- At first, the ML's feelings are hidden. Meanwhile, the SML shares all these endearing moments with the FL. It's annoying to show them so cute together, when it's later revealed to be one-sided love.
- ML and parents could have prevented SML from falling in love with FL, but didn't.
- A recent episode shows it's now end of July, so SML has been in love for 4ish months. Frustrating so much time and focus to be on this unnecessary love triangle.

In conclusion, wish there was no love triangle at all, both brothers are great characters, but wish one of them only had purely platonic feelings. Then, I would have loved this show.

netflix subbing castaway diva in english is a sign of success right?
I guess? But honestly, the dubs are unwatchable for me lol. They change the words way too much and the English actors just can't hold a candle to the originals.

Chae Jong Hyeop just does nothing for me. I don't know if I would have liked Bo Geol more if it were a different…
For me, I think when Bo-Geol/Kiho is a kid, he gets a lot of screen-time and interesting scenes. So the young version is great and I love all his scenes. 👍

Even the adult version of Bo-Geol is still amazingly selfless, devoted, loving, etc. However, he chooses to hide his feelings, the writer conceals his true intentions, and he doesn't get much screen-time. Plus, Bo-Geol's refusal to tell Woo-Hak the truth leads Woo-Hak down a very painful path. Then, Cha Hak-Yeon's amazing acting/Woo-Hak's amazing character proceeds to get all the focus.

So, for me, I think the problem lies with how the character was written. No matter who they cast as the adult, I think the character would still kinda fall a little flat.

This writer really has a way of splitting the viewers 😅 She writes really good second leads with whom a lot…
I agree. Unlike Start Up, this time the childhood backstory actually plays out in Castaway Diva, which is nice. However, the second male lead is still my favorite character in both dramas.

Mokha and Boguel as endgame does indeed makes total sense, it's not that I'm against it. But for me, Woo Hak's comedic personality is much more fun to watch than tsundere Boguel. Cha Hak-yeon gets to show off his great acting skills; we see him laugh, cry, love, sacrifice, get annoyed, get angry, etc. Whereas, Chae Jong-hyeop's character's feelings are more concealed from us.

I don't enjoy how so much screen-time and focus is put on developing Woo Hak's character, only to have him end up in heartbreak. I like shows where I can relax and happily cheer on the main leads, but in this, the writer keeps repeatedly killing the mood by focusing on Woo Hak's heartbreak lol. Would have preferred if only one of the brothers fell in love with Mokha.

I do understand love triangles are used to keep people interested in watching the show and build hype on social media. But I just don't enjoy these types of plots. I didn't realize at first this was the same writer as Start Up, but now I've learned my lesson, she's a good writer, but I don't like her use of love triangles.
