LIke I said, I am hoping the drama to have the HAPPIEST ENDING. but yes, the novel is not the guarantee, i have huge trauma from previous drama with tragic ending while its novel has happy ending.... I love how DengWei's acting has improved, I love how he portraits the character. I love how the FL is a stronger character (Compared to the last few cdramas I watched end of last year), though I dont like her bad prejudice upon ML at first, but the plot and the story line tells that there's more than that.

I am just PRAYING to every hidden power on earth please let this have A HAPPY ENDING!!! PLEASE!!! To start my faith in Chinese XianXia Drama of 2025... LOL

For WenZongYu, I sort of disagree. In my opinion, good development of a character doesnt have to always be nicer and better in positive attitude kind of ways. oh dont get me wrong, I HATE HIM. I even threw my TV remote at him at last few episode. Thank God my TV isnt broken. But I can see how he changed and his character has developed from a mere sad guy losing his wife and unborn child, into a hateful character who leads one whole Bureau of Demon hunter, finding his way to achieve his target (either it's good or bad). He was just merely a local doctor, for me, a very simple way he indeed grows and develops... though it's not in the direction of we want. I can accept all kinds of development honestly. Otherwise, all drama plot is just gonna be good guys and no conflict. Zhuo for example, grows from a kid adoring his bother, destroyed by his family death, full of hate towards ZYZ for killing his family, until learning to accept ZYZ as coworker, learning to understand ZYZ behind his evil demon traits, until he has to accept the fact he's a demon himself, even a strong one. He grows beautifully. Baijiu, grows from crybaby, into a brave kid admitting his mistake of framing his friends, until super brave kid sacrificing himself to protect the world and his friends. I mean every single character has good and bad development, I can understand that. WenXiao on the other hand, yes, she's almighty nice, she's open minded about demons and human, she's strong will, pure heart, she's all adorable, oh yes she's beautiful.. CDL is so beautiful. Hahaha... But let's be fair... ohhh I found the word... I am so sorry... The better word is supposed to be SKILL. Human (if WX is still considered human), lives the life full of obstacles. In dramas, more extremes, characters is even fighting life and death, blood and tears. All those need MENTAL and SKILL too right. I mean as Baizhe Goddes, let's be fair alright, very fair... her skill playing the flute, the Goddess flute is just not enough throughout the drama. In many opportunities, during life and death fight, she mostly just stands there or lay there... In my mind, when she finds her flute, and ZYZ is still strong enough, she gains better skill with her flute. Despite the poison I knnow... I know she's poisoned and she's weak because of that, but in the crucial moment, I wish she could do more with her flute to help her friends. Her Teacher, the previous BaiZhe, can even lock LiLun by herself. In ZYZ utterly weak condition after repairing sword, he still fights WenZongYu, still has to suck out the poison out of WenXiao body, and then sacrifice himself becoming rain saving all people. I mean... I had hoped. I had this ending scene in my mind... That of course I personally think will be super touching but a very good ending... That her character grows in skill or strength as protector of two realms, she helps fight WZY even she's poisoned. She and ZYZ sacrifices to help bring peace (in form of shield and cure the disease) and she is reborn as new BaiZhe, along with ZYZ soul being collected by ZYC. That ending would be much better. I believe to live a good life, you will need to grow psychologically and skill wise. If I wish to survive doing business, I need to learn business skill. I see development like that. Pei Brother is sick all the time, he has very strong will to help his sister. He grows from that strong will, even though his growth is not the way we wanted.. hahahaha I always feel sad seeing him. But he chose to be that way he is in order to be stronger. In certain episode, WX even stated herself that she's helpless and useless, and about to finish herself, thanks to Pei stopping her. In certain episode, The Old Tree Goddess (Baijiu mother) also mention that it's BaiZhe duty to sacrifice herself to protect the world. My POV is honestly very simple. As I said, I am not taking the drama into complicated behind the story, or even like you mentioned, philosophical aspect. I enjoy the drama, the story plot, the portrayal of cultural background, legends and historical aspect. I respect every single aspect of it.

I am not saying WenXiao needs to have physical strength or strength of any in physical form. We have Pei for that. She's strong in fighting skills although she is just mere human. I did read. I just dont think you can understand my point of view. Thank you for saying maybe I am too young. LOL. I'll take that as compliment. All in all, my view over her character is SHE IS THE GODDESS. Together with her, is two strong demons, even BaiJiu is half Goddess has strong defense power when he comes under danger. I surely hoping she gains Goddess strength a long the story goes. My apology if my logic cannot comprehend that WenXiao strength is just mental strength. Mental Strength is important, yes. However, the drama contains real fights, spells, swords, weapons, and life and death. That's all. I do think the writer did missed something for her character. If talking about mental strength, I do think there's other characters in the drama whose will and passion is stronger than WenXiao, even that bad guy I despise the most, has stronger will to kill demon until he became demons himself. Haha. I dont want to take things too deep and serious. This is a drama, which is supposed to be entertaining, still with all due respect to cultural and philosophical references and delivery for this drama. It's just my point of view, and I have rewatched again several crucial episodes to maybe find some parts that I missed where she contributes something crucial in the fight. But yes, not yet. As I remember, during the last fight on episode 33, she didnt even show up much (or maybe she isnt in episode 33 at all). Oh yes, she has many reasons not to join on fights or show her power, at first she lost the baizhe flute, then her flute is destroyed, then she's sick because of the plague, then she's poisoned, she's all sick and depends on the power of the demons working with her... and so on and so forth... As few people defending her characters. No big issue anyway. I stand by what I feel about her character not being Goddess enough. People feel free to defend her. I dont think we all need to quarrel about one FL character in a fictional drama. ^^ Have a good day everyone.

Hahaha, I think it's ZYZ who fell first and gave her a lot attention. Thus when there were only 3 of them, she already felt his companion and passion. Then he shows up again after all these years. If I am not wrongly remember the scene, when he dropped her in Demon Hunter Bureau, she already hooked up and depended on him. Hence she made him promise to come back and look for her. ^^ Their feeling development is fine for me. I am just annoyed how her character, being the Goddess, contributes so little. ^^

I have nothing against the actress. Only about the character. I actually kinda like how ChenDuLing acting as WenXiao. She gets the feeling correct. ^^ For me, all in all, character development is important watching a drama. Like, for example, another on going drama The Story of Pearl Girl... so far (Well, I stopped watching because I want to wait for the ending first.. LOL, I watched until episode 21), almost all the characters in that drama are developed well.. FL from a merely weak pearl collector, learns business tricks, even learning how to fight. Oh yes, she is going through A LOT. I even cried my soul out when her friends are all gone, but she's learning and keeps on being better person, a better character. Yet, she's nobody since the start. Only a pearl slave. Watching drama, movies or even animes, I would (tend to) prefer characters being well developed. While from FoF Wenxiao, as a Goddess, I dont think that her character received well enough justice. I am not blaming the actress, I sort of blaming the script writer... LOL She could have been better. Helping Zhuo and ZhuYan. I was hoping when she's stronger (not necessarily physical), she could have protected BaiJiu and others. ^^ Once again, I am not only pointing to her physical strength. At the very least, her characters contribution throughout the story is less compared to others. The story line about her characters should have been written better. I am Chinese, so I sort of know all this, yet I still spent around 50 minutes to read your comprehensive elaboration. Thank you for the effort. For me, watching a drama, it's important for every character to have character development. I dont see it on WenXiao. All those mythical creatures and believes you have mentioned above are all almighty and powerful. Well, at the very least, as a Goddess, WenXiao should has at least been developed growing stronger ^^. That's my two cents.

Oh dont get me wrong please... Fangs of Fortune is a super great drama, with in my personal opinion, great story plot and plot twist here and there. But my fun watching FoF is kinda ruined by FL character. Her character has no development throughout the drama. I kinda dislike zero contribution character, moreover she's the MAIN ROLE. And for me, the ending is bad.. #cry

She is the GODDESS here in the drama, the protector Goddess for two worlds of Human and Demons. At first few episodes, I sincerely thought she was weak at body because her Goddess power was lost, right? I had hoped for the character development. I had hoped that when she found the flute, and combined with ZhuYan's bracelet, her strength or Goddess Power would be at least enough to help a bit. Maybe not in a fight, since she cant do kungfu, but I sincerely think that being the Goddess, the main role, the main character, the protector, her character should have grown to a better version, and be able to contribute to cure the plague on the last few episodes, or even maybe with her Goddess power, can help calm or hold the bad guy a bit during the last fight. You know, what I mean is Character Development. I think a part from FL, every character in this drama has taken a step forward in character developing. Yes, my account is new, I just rarely post anything here. Just a silence reader of people's reviews and comments. I have been reading drama's reviews and comments on here for quite several years, and trust me when I say I normally peek on the ending first on here, then I go watch. But for FoF, I honestly waited for this drama to air for so long, that I was willing to watch an on going drama, only for FoF hahahaha... No personal offense from me.... What I said is a fact. WenXiao Character sadly has no development throughout the 34 episodes. Logic wise, after all ended, she continues to live being the Goddess to protect the two realms, after being the way she has been throughout the drama, can she really guard two realms and fights all the evil and naughty demons by herself? without ZhuYan, without ZhuoYiChen? It's really kinda hard to picture, right? I sincerely wish her character also gotten stronger (better developed). In the end, if indeed ZhuYan has to sacrifice and all, it's okay for Wenxiao to continue by herself, because she's grown stronger, better, and wiser. All just because in this story, she portraits the Protector Goddess.

I honestly get that part of her strength of strong will and very nice minded about demons and human. However, this is not a philosophical drama only. This drama contains lots of magical power and conflicts of two different world. Every character in this drama has a strength to help accomplish everything. Even the youngest has the knowledge of medicines thus can create medicines for plague that's coming from Demon side (even though later we finds him half God from his mother). But FL? she has been the PROTECTOR GODDESS since the beginning, and going through case by case, she doesnt join fights, thus always being protected, she also lays there on the floor, helplessly. It just doesnt make sense that the Goddess (main role), is being Goddess, just for her strong will amongst Evil Human, Evil Demons and Demons friends. While other fighting for dear lives haha. And yes, we all can see, all those helpful characters die. When I watched this drama up till episode 12 or 13, I had hope, from Zero to Hero would happen. at first I thought she was weak because she doesnt have the BaiZhe ShenNv power. Most great dramas involved the nice development of the character, from hating demons, to understanding demons pain. From weak to strong, from being very nice to being very evil, or even from very scardy cat to very brave wanting to protect someone they care about. I sincerely thought WenXiao should have a better development of character instead of stuck being a cry baby from start til the end, she's the Goddess nonetheless. I think it would be perfect and match the story if the Goddess helps and contributes a bit, other than with her only strong will and positive mindset.

I waited for this drama for half a year, I love the drama for it's plot and delivery, of course love the actors and ChengXiao. I am not a troll account... I just stated a fact... Despite being a Protector GODDESS, the FL is being protected throughout the drama and if you watched seriously with an open minded, you'd agree. There's been many red flag FLs in dramas. This one is included.

I am not continuing watching this drama after the ending of Kill Me Love Me and Fangs of Fortune. Period. I am waiting the last episode to air then I'll continue to watch if the ending MAKES SENSE.

the FL character is utterly useless. LOL All she does is just crying and laying on the floor. Nothing else. She doesnt even contribute ANYTHING at all. And all important and useful characters have to die for her to live on... Sigh
